I didn't want to work tonight but Travis, my boss, said we could be out early once Haley and Donna come in. I never did hold my breath with those two anyways. Travis only keeps them around because, well they aren't ugly. These girls were known to be quite lazy and expected everyone to do things for them. They used their beauty and body to get these things.

"Angel, you got more customers". Travis said pointing over behind me.

I broke out of my zone and I grabbed the mixer and walked over to the group of college frat guys.

"Welcome boys. What can I get ya"? I asked.

"A glass of you if possible"? The one drunk one smirked.

"No can do. I can get ya a beer though". I sighed.

"We'll take four beers". Another one spoke.

I nodded and walked over to the fridge, grabbed the four beers and walked back over.

"Sixteen total, do you wanna start a tab"? I asked.

"Nah, we're good. Here". The brown hair spoke. He was tall with brown eyes, his teeth were kinda big but he was attractive. He seemed liked the one your friends would warn you about. He gave me a nod. "Keep the change".

I nodded and put the twenty in the register and took four dollars out for myself.

"This is the most ive seen this place packed on a Thursday. Do we know the occasion"? Travis said as he walked over to me, leaning against the back counter. "Normally its on dj nights or prom. Never a random Thursday". He laughed.

I looked over at his tattoo arms that were crossed over his chest.

"Yeah, when's Donna and Haley coming"? I asked.

He chuckled. "Soon".

I walked back over to the newer customers, one being the same guy from before.

"Hi". He smiled.

I put my blonde hair into a bun as I gave him a smile.

"Hi. What would you like"? I asked.

"I just came over to say hi". He chuckled.

I leaned over the counter and gave him a nod. This was normally how the nights would turn out. Guys only looked at me when they were drunk so I never let it bother me. Not how they looked at Donna and Haley.

"I'm Pete". He said and held his hand out.

"I'm Angel". I said and shook his hand.

"Pretty name." He smirked.

I nodded and handed him a beer. "On the house". I smiled and walked off.

I stood back next to Travis and he chuckled. "That's not how you find your person".

I shrugged. "He's cute enough". I smiled and poured us a shot.

The night was ending soon and the bar crowd disappeared. I was wiping up the counter as three men walked into the bar.

"Pete"? I questioned.

He gave me a nod and moved to the side as the two others did the same. Seconds later a taller man walked in. I took a deep breath as he gave the one guy a chuckle and turned to me.

"Hey beautiful. Travis in"? He asked.

I nodded slowly and pointed to the back. He gave me a wink and just himself walked in the back. I turned to see the other guys and gave them a grin.

"How was the rest of your night"? Pete asked.

"Busy, but manageable. What are you doing here"? I asked.

"My man back there owns this place. He's just got into town, so we're checking on a few things".

I nodded. Travis never mentioned anything about being a co-owner. I always thought he owned 'Horns travern'.

Travis and the mysterious man walked out from the back and Travis handed me a key. "I won't be in tomorrow night. You need to open with Haley". He said.

I nodded and grabbed the pink keychain from his fingers. The mystery man walked behind the counter, grabbed one of our expensive bottles of tequila, giving me a wink.

"Alright boss man. We'll see you tomorrow". Pete said as he shook Travis's hand.

I noticed the mysterious man was now bent over next to me grabbing the money bag from under the counter.

"Oh I haven't totaled it yet, i dont know if i wrote down the tips". I said.

"I trust you". He smirked and walked out from behind the counter. He grabbed the staff sign in book and turned right Travis.

"Was she the only one tonight"? He asked.

"Yeah, the other two couldn't come in". Travis said.

The other man nodded and set the book on the counter and turned quickly. Maybe he'll deal with that situation?

Once the group left I sighed and finished wiping the counter off. After that was done I walked over to grab my purse and shut the lights off. I checked the time, reading two-forty-five in the morning. Groaning because I should have been home. When Donna and Haley dont show up, I'm stuck doing all their jobs along with mine. It's nice that Travis stays and helps most of those nights.

As I walked out I put the hood of my jacket up. The rain was something I never got used to since moving here. Before I got a job here I was living in Portland Oregon with my cat. I ended up getting let go from the bookstore I worked there due to them closing down. Other then that place I had nothing else there. A twenty seven year old, single women also couldn't afford to live on her own. I made the decision to move and found a cheaper place in Seattle Washington. I met Travis in a shop downtown and he offered me the job, it's been almost a year.

I got into my car and started it up only for it to shut off again.

"Fuck" I groaned and tried it again but nothing.

I hit the steering wheel and sat back. It's not like I have all the money in the world to buy myself a new one or to get it fixed. Another thing I can ask the mysterious boss man, a raise.

I locked the doors to the car and reclined the seat back, letting the rain sooth my anxiety. For all I know a weirdo could come up to my car and kill me in my sleep. I reached over and grabbed my purse, pulling out a small bag of weed. I don't smoke, Travis left this as a tip for me a couple nights ago, one of the many that i worked alone. I grabbed one and the lighter, lighting up the end of the joint and took a inhale. Coughing instantly and put the window down a bit.

"Jesus". I hissed as the smoke burned the back of my throat.

I took another hit, this time it went easier. I laid my head back on the seat and sighed.

"This is my life now". I mumbled out loud again.
