Even though, I was completely assuming that my family was in York New city, I can't deny that it was something in the air that seemed strange enough and was enough for me to think the Phantom Troupe was here, I needed to find them to tell them. But I had no clue how to tell them what had happen over the course of eleven months.
On my travels, I had met Gon and Killua many times before, so once I saw them walking down the street to the same hotel I was in, I suppose I took it as fate taking its course, and so I went up to them, we said our hello's and then they asked me the inevitable question.
-"Hey, I don't mean to intrude"- Killua whispered to me while Gon was walking just a few steps ahead of us.
-"Yeah, don't think about it, What's up?"- Maybe if I played it off cool, he wouldn't really care for whatever answer I gave him.
-"What happened with you and my brother?"- We both knew that was his question, still, I didn't want to lie to him, nor did I want to tell him the extended truth of it all.
-"We broke up. Things weren't working anymore so I ended it."- The young Zoldyck looked at me with refreshed eyes, as if he wanted this to happen, he seemed rather happy for his brothers' disgraces' most of the time.
-"Good for you."- After that, he grabbed my arm and took off towards Gon, who was buying bubble tea right around the corner of our hotel.
A couple of hours passed by while I was hanging out with the boys, they were telling all sorts of adventures they had been on during basically the entire year, I felt happy knowing they were doing better than before, part of me suspected Killua of being the one who brought me here, but I have no clue who it could have been.
I decided to go downstairs to the bar for a drink, thinking it was a good plan to shake them off for a couple of hours to be able to devise a plan to where to look for them, I knew I could rely on their friend if I truly needed it, however, as interested as I was in this Kurapika fellow, it was preferable for me to just do it alone.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw pink hair sit down a chair away from me. Excitedly, I turned to the left to see Machi sitting there, ordering a some water and turning around to face me. I sat down next to her, and devised the most complicated plan I had ever thought about to see my family once more.
-"Yo Machi, I'll pay for your drink tonight"- She looked angrily at me, but I knew she'd take the bait, she always had a soft spot for Chrollo's closest friends, and that was me, and another person, aside from the troupe.
-"I'll let you, but you have to explain what happened to you"- Everyone around us could tell how mad she was at me, I just smiled at her and tilted my head to face the wall of liquor in front of me.
-"It's the least I could do for you, no? I disconnected for awhile, I met someone I loved and stayed with them for sometime, afterwards I got bored, and came over"- I didn't have to lie to her, and I didn't, I simply fudged a couple of things, I'll tell only Chrollo what's going to happen.
She turned her head around, and signaled that she was going to the bathroom, I knew she had already told the Troupe that I was here, and I assumed that when she came back, everything would be ready for my departure to wherever they are. I sensed someone coming up to me so I turned around expecting it to be my chofer but instead I was met the kids I had left upstairs.
-"Are you leaving already?"- A disappointed Gon whined, I hadn't thought that maybe they did care for me, and me using them to find my family would affect them.
-"I'm sorry for not telling you guys, I didn't expect you to care"- I tried laughing it off with them, but they didn't budge, instead Gon hugged me and Killua gave me the best wishes I could have asked for.
-"Idiot, of course we care, you've helped us through a lot of things, and you didn't deserve to be with my brother, we just wanted to know when we meet again."- He looked away while he said everything, but I could feel how hard that was for him, so I hugged Gon a little tighter and tried not to cry.
-"H-HEY! Why are you crying?!"- Killua doesn't deal with emotion very well, and as Gon looked up to see if I was okay, I wiped away my tears and started laughing at the kindness of two boys who didn't know the full picture.
-"I'm just happy for you two, you've been through a lot, especially for you to be so grown now."- Gon stopped hugging me after I said that and smiled at me, he headed towards his white-haired friend.
-"Thank you for everything, Aridam!"- He waved to me and took his friend off to scold him for being so rude earlier, I just stood there, smiling in awe, at their innocence.
It wasn't long before Machi came back from the "restroom", she told me that she had called an uber for us to keep talking somewhere more private. With a lot of joy, I accepted her ride, although, I didn't know who would be driving the car, I could assume it'd be Pakunoda or Shalnark, maybe Uvogin would be inside waiting for me, as well.
We walked towards the black car, and once Machi was inside the vehicle, I opened my door to be greeted with a worried Uvogin who pulled me in with the force of pending anger, I close my door and looked around the car to see, Shalnark in the driver's seat, I smiled to them all and finally relaxed in my seat.
-"The boss was stupidly worried about you! You hadn't shown up in eleven months, we thought we had to replace you!"- Uvogin was screaming in my ear, while Machi was annoyed at her partners incompetence.
As Uvogin, kept playing the role of the worried friend, in the front seat you could see Shalnark happily driving to who-knows-where, and Machi telling him about how shameless I had been coming up to her without a single worry on my face, talking about how I had "fallen in love" and then just went away once I got "bored".
Not being able to control my laughter, not only because Machi and Uvogin were being so emotional but, also, because I missed them. I missed my family, I don't think they had realized it yet but I was happy being there, I say I don't think, because Shalnark kept smiling and laughing with me every time he looked through the retrovisor.
-"Are you laughing at us!?"- Uvogin said with a much more accusatory tone, than as a question, but either way I looked at him with a big grin plastered on my face.
-"Uvo! I would never laugh at you guys, I'm just happy about being with you again! You're my family"- He looked in disbelief, and smiled back at me.
-"Well, Of course you were going to miss us! Who else would care for you like we would!"- As he spoke, the people in the front seats, laughed at Uvogin's simplistic nature. After awhile, we all sighed and Shalnark spoke to me.
-"Hey, Ari, What's going on?"- Machi and Uvogin, didn't understand the question, but I assumed that Chrollo had told him our code, which meant that he wouldn't understand my answer, but Kuro would.
-"Oh, nothing, I don't have the time, is all"- Machi understood that nobody was supposed to get what I meant, not Shalnark, not her, nor Uvogin, it was a message to her boss, and she'd deliver it.
