IT WAS THE SAME routine over and over again. juniper would wake up and her ladies would dress her, then she'd go eat two bites of the extravagant breakfast the cooks prepared, then she'd do random things alone.the only times she felt at peace were when she was asleep, but then she'd have to wake up and do it all again. she always wondered if the reason george went to kew was maybe because she wasn't good enough for him. or simply because there was another woman.
she hoped the second one was the case because she couldn't take not being enough for another person yet again, just like her father. she sighed as she twisted and turned in the empty sheets before lazily ringing the bell on the side of her bed.
a few seconds later ladies rushed in as she got up and smiled at them. she washed her face and mouth before letting the ladies assist her in getting ready. she wore a beautiful lavender gown, with her hair in a nice messy updo as she smiled at her appearance.
she then began walking down the halls as the guards and such bowed to her, brimsley five steps behind. she then quickly turned around and faced the brunette man as she spoke up. "do i have any social engagements i can do today?" she asks as brimsley shakes his head.
"seriously? why?" she asks as brimsley looks at her as if he's gonna drop very upsetting news on her. "you're technically still on your honeymoon. so you have nothing in your schedule and you can't do anything." he says as she laughs.
"so that imbecile knew we were to have a honeymoon and he went to kew?!" she asks throwing her hands up as she finds a place to take a quick seat. she didn't notice but brimsley let out a small laugh as she insulted the king of great britain and ireland.
"ready my carriage." she demands as he looks at her confused. "i'm going to see that fool." she says unconsciously insulting the king again as she walks back to her bedroom to grab a coat. it took a few hours to get to kew but as soon as she stepped out she was met by the sight of reynolds, the kings man.
"where is the king?" she asks as reynolds speaks up. "we weren't expecting your majest-." he begins. "where is the king?" juniper asks once again more firmly. reynolds then points in a direction as he speaks up. "the observatory." he says as she walks over.
as the doors opened she was met with the sight of george and a rather large telescope. "june, hello!" he says happy to see her. "what is this place?" juniper asks already fed up. "it's an observatory! see here if i line this up you might be able to see the constellations-." he begins as he moves the telescope.
"so you've been spending our honeymoon in this place?" juniper asks, one hand on her hip. "-it's an observatory but yes." he says simply as he walks over looking into he telescope. "george- i thought maybe you were visiting- another woman!" juniper says as george snorts out a laugh.
"don't be ridiculous juniper, did you even think about that before you spoke it into existence?" george asks between chuckles as juniper rolls her eyes. "i've thought about it enough." she mumbles.
"i do not think you did june-." george says as juniper scoffs. "- i did so! do not do that george." she says angrily. "do what?" he asks, a sly smile plastered across his face. "all i am saying is that it might have been better if you were visiting an other woman!" juniper says slightly raising her voice as george looks at her surprised.
"i am saying i would have understood that more- but no! you enjoy stars to my company- which is a bit understandable- unless it is your wife!?" juniper says as george approaches her. "i did not say i prefer-." george begins.
"you have been in this room-." juniper begins as she cuts george off. "observatory- one of its kind in all of england." george says making juniper more mad by the second. "you have been in this one of a kind observatory- room. sleeping, and eating and enjoying the sky since our wedding- while i have been stuck in that stuffy palace, being changed three times a day like a rag doll, with no where to go... no one- not anyone to talk to, nothing to do-." juniper says not taking one breath.
"- you are the queen.. you can do whatever you like-." george begins with arrogance lacing through his voice. "-except spend time with my husband." juniper says as george looks at her. "come on now june.." he begins.
"george!" she yells as he stares at her. "i do not understand what it is you complain about." he says as her gaze drops into a hurt one. "i am seven and ten years old. and suddenly i am queen- someone like me is queen- in a strange country, with strange foods, and strange customs. you do not understand because this is who you were born to be, george. i cannot do whatever i like. the queen is not allowed to even go to the modiste, or the galleries, i cannot make friends!- i do not know a single soul here except for you." she says as she takes a step forward with ever sentence, george taking a step back with every sentence.
"i am utterly, and completely alone. and you prefer the sky to me." she says as george just stands there looking her up and down. "george!" she yells once again but louder. "-what!?" he yells back.
"say something..." she says annoyed as he shakes his head. " i do not want to fight juniper." he says as she shakes her head. "i want to fight with you!" she exclaims as he sighs. "fight with me! fight for me, george." she says adamantly.
"go home, juniper!" he shouts pointing to the door. she then lifts up her heavy gown as she begins walking towards the door, never once looking back at her husband she barely knows.
