JUNIPER KNEW THAT WITH george there were always gonna be good and bad days. she had been taking care of the baby for days but today was important for george. he had to deliver a speech to the parliament.

juniper knew how anxious he was. and she felt absolutely awful as she realized she was late. she quickly rushed down the hall, with brimsley five steps behind her. she turned into the room to see george dressed in formal clothing as his hands shook slightly.

"george i'm sorry i'm late." juniper says hastily. "it's ok." he says softly. she then exchanges a look with reynolds before gently holding georges face in her hands. "you'll do amazing. i know you're anxious, you have every right to be. but i believe you can do it." she says looking into his eyes, that we're slightly squinted due to him furrowing his eyebrows in distress.

she then quickly got on her tippy toes and placed a small gentle kiss on his temple, then one on his lips as she brushed off some dust from his clothing. she then parted ways with him as she took a stroll alone with the baby in the garden.

she held the sleeping baby as she approached the very same garden she was in the first time she was ever here. "you see that georgie? that's where i met your father, he told me he was.... just george.." she whispers. "i tried to run— i wasn't ready.. for any of it." she admits.

that was something juniper never knew would leave her mouth. she'd always like to say that the only reason she felt the need to not marry george was because she wasn't ready to be queen— to hear the thoughts both negative and positive from society...

and part of that was true. but it was also because juniper always wanted real love. one that money or power couldn't buy, but something that was entirely genuine. and she thought that the king of england couldn't provide that.

but he has.. he's provided that and so much more to her.

A few hours later juniper had been hearing whispers around the house. rumors that george never delivered his speech. she looked almost everywhere for him. she then entered their bedroom as she softly spoke.

"george?" she asks as she hears shuffling under the bed. she then reluctantly looks under to find george laying there unfazed. "may i ask what you're doing george?" she says slowly. "i'm hiding." he says in a slight whisper.

juniper pauses for a minute before sliding under with him. "what are you doing?" he asks her, confused. "i shall hide with you." she says. after a whole five or more minutes of silence, george speaks up.

"june. i'm so sorry." he says lowly. "pour quoi?" she asks as he quickly translates. "for the fact that you have to love me... even though i'm like this." he says with a sigh. "george.. i love you however you are. no matter what. you'll always be just george.. ok?" she says sincerely as he turns to her, nodding.

"the heavens and the earth are always where i get lost.. but somehow i always find my way back because of you." he says genuinely as juniper wipes a stray tear from her face. "you know i love you your majesty, farmer— just george.." juniper says as george chuckles a bit.

"je t'aime plus de genévrier annalise." he says. "you've learned to say my name in french?' juniper asks, surprised. "i'd learn anything in french for you." he says as he leans in, gently grabbing her face and planting a kiss on her lips.

she remembered it like it was their wedding day, the first day they ever met. then looking into each other's eyes, not knowing that after that their whole life's would change and maybe it was for the better.

because juniper did look between the heavens and the earth, and she found her peace. no matter the cost.
