Warning: world building / backstory, stalking?

--

It's been a few days since my dreams have ended. The dreams were definitely strange and hurtful most of the time but I was thankful for the long sleep it would give me, but now I didn't have that.

Now I was back to the insomnia-filled nights of no sleep and watching anime.

Since the dreams ended along with my good night's rest. All I could do was wait for something to happen.

What DID happen after I woke up from the last dream, was that Jojo was erased from the world. No mention of the anime or the manga could be found anywhere.

I looked all over the internet, my local library, news articles, etc. But I still came up empty-handed. Even Hirohiko Araki was just a tiny mangaka who drew in 1980 then never again.

Everything was gone.

Well except for the characters, but now they were actually people. Which was absolutely terrifying in retrospect.

I found news articles on the Speedwagon Foundation, a Wikipedia page about the Joestar family's success in working with the Speedwagon Foundation, and even Rohan's manga publication of Dark Pink Boy.

Which replaced all of my Jojo manga/merch I had. It was an exciting series. I sat on my couch clumsily flipping through the pages of the manga with my dog, known as Tiny, sitting next to me.

It was hard flipping through the pages with a cast on my fingers. The cast was fixed onto my pinky finger which was the one broken and the ring finger for support. Luckily, I was smart enough to break my non-dominant hand, but things were still awkward.

I was still taking a break from work since Simon demanded it after seeing my finger. I scared the shit out of him with it, I'm pretty sure he thought I had a mental breakdown.

At least the mini vacation was nice even though I loved my job. All of my regulars seemed worried about me though.

I would get texts asking why the cafe/bakery wasn't open. Some old lady who would frequent the cafe came knocking on my door offering me some fresh fruit. I was delighted until they started to talk about how the Higashikata family fruit never fails to bring a smile to someone's face.

That mention of Jojo mixing into my world made me a little worried, but in the end, the fruit was good.

Everyone in the town had my back and that eased my mind. I was loved by almost everyone, mostly because I was reliable and friendly. That and my best friend was the chief cop.

But that sense of impending doom loomed over me. I decided I should stop hiding away in my house and take a walk. I could also visit the cafe and see how it was doing without me.

I picked up Tiny's leash as he hopped around me. I laughed before buckling him into his harness and opening the door.

We walked out into our front yard as the street was bustling. Many of my old neighbors were outside watching moving men take things from their houses.

"Oh, what's going on here?" I asked walking over to Edith, an especially kooky old lady who lived with her much younger husband. Not that I was one to judge.

"Oh (Name), I'm glad I caught you!" She squealed shuffling over to me.

"I didn't know if I'd get the chance to talk to you before I left." She chuckled pressing her hand to her mouth to stifle it.

"Left?" I asked confused.

"That's right! I nice young man offered me a large sum of money to move out of my house." She laughed even more now. Her excitement and joy were clear on her face.
