I didn't know if it was the pressure of our upcoming debut, the soft snoring of Nina, who I shared a room with, or the adrenaline still pumping through my veins from having all those late-night training sessions.
Maybe it was the absence of my best friend, Choonhae, who never spent her evenings in her bed.
A part of me had hoped we had left many of the most challenging work behind us at Star Planet because that thing had been the farthest from easy. I was so wrong. This debut prep was the hardest thing I had ever gone through, and to top it all off, now I had insomnia. I barely slept.
I usually didn't worry much. I have always had a free-spirited attitude about everything, yet now I felt different. I was on edge. Like I was looking at myself from afar.
And it didn't help Keita was not reaching out at all.
It must be hard being the only one not debuting, and I still felt sick about it. I even still let out a tear once in a while when nobody was watching. He should have been in here with us, prepping for his debut. Yet, he wasn't. And he doesn't even text back.
Around five in the morning, an hour before the alarm, I had enough of staring at the ceiling. I jumped out of bed with a sigh. My legs were hurting; everything was hurting actually from all the dance practice we had been doing. I mainly had trained for my vocals during my trainee days, so all the dance training I was doing now was frankly a little bit too advanced.
We have four bathrooms and six bedrooms, not counting the master bedroom Allison and Hanbin shared on the other side of the apartment. The couple had their own washroom, while all other bedrooms essentially shared one common bathroom each. All girls rooms were connected to the guy's room by one bathroom.
My connecting bathroom was shared with the room Zhang Hao shared with Gyuvin. The two loved sleeping in the same room during Star Planet, but they had mutually agreed to kick Yujin out. He was too loud for them at night and liked to roam around too much.
As I opened the bathroom door on our side, I immediately noticed something was off. The other door, parallel to mine, was closed, but the mess in front of the door did it for me. I still hadn't figured out who the messy culprit was, but my money was on Gyuvin. I spotted red boxer shorts, three of them, scattered around the white tiled floors. The little bathroom mats were in disarray, and their sink was a hot mess. Toothpaste stains were everywhere, and the mirror was greasy as fuck. Our side was clean and tidy.
I rolled my eyes and groaned loudly, not caring who I woke.
I had to live with this. I couldn't do it. I was going insane!
With one of the guy's toothbrushes, I picked the closest red boxer shorts up, holding it away from me as far as I could before throwing it at the door. It rattled against the door handle. Good. I hope it woke them up. I scuttled towards another one, put the brush down and picked the boxershorts up again, and did the exact same thing. My nose wrinkled in disgust.
