Navigating through the chaotic airport once again proved to be a daunting task. The crowds seemed even larger this time, and the relentless pushing and shoving of people, including the relentless press and their intrusive cameras, started to overwhelm me. Gunwook, ever the protector, had Choonhae securely by his side, skillfully maneuvering through the sea of bodies. I, on the other hand, had fallen behind, with Matthew shooting worried glances in my direction as he and Giovanna forged ahead. Our bodyguards were doing their best to maintain order, but it felt like there simply weren't enough of them. Every now and then, a random person managed to break through the barrier, and each time it happened, a surge of panic coursed through me. The weight on my chest grew heavier, and anxiety threatened to consume me. The noise of the crowd intensified, making my head spin. I was trapped in a nightmare, feeling isolated and falling further behind. Almost last. Almost.
Feeling a wave of desperation, I turned around, desperately searching for a familiar face in the chaos. And then, our eyes met. Hao. I couldn't understand why he was there, as he had been walking alongside Nina and Hanbin in the middle of the group earlier. I vaguely remembered Hanbin receiving a phone call and hastily leaving them behind, but my attention had been diverted when a fan breached the security perimeter right in front of me. I was still shaken by the forcefulness with which our security team had pushed her back.
Apparently, my state of mind must have been evident, because Hao started approaching me, his presence offering a glimmer of comfort in the chaos. "Just breathe. You're going to be okay," he reassured, his hand landing on my shoulder, applying a reassuring squeeze. I took a shuddering breath, attempting to follow his advice, but it seemed as though my lungs refused to cooperate.
Hao squeezed my shoulder once more, his voice calm and steady. "You're almost out of here, princess. Almost. The van is just a minute away."
With Hao's support, I continued to walk, even as my breathing became increasingly erratic. It felt as though I was trapped in a tunnel, the surrounding noise muffled, and a persistent ringing in my ears drowned out everything else. I feared that I might pass out at any moment, and the thought of photographers capturing that moment made my anxiety soar.
Finally, a sudden rush of cold air hit me as we made our escape from the suffocating confines of the airport. Hanbin was still on the phone, standing at the steps of the waiting van.
"What's going on?" Hao inquired, sensing that something was amiss.
I struggled to speak, my voice barely a whisper. "Is it Alli?" She had returned home earlier.
Hanbin nodded, "she has received another package."
