Chapter 14

The weeks until the summer break passed quickly. Charles and I had a few more dates before I decided to go back to Germany for the summer break. I still had my old apartment, albeit without any decorations, but the rest was still there. To my surprise, Este came with me so I prepared the couch for him. The summer break until my birthday passed slowly. To pick up the others from the airport, I rented a VW bus so that everyone could take a ride.
At the airport I waited patiently for those arriving from Monte Carlo, London, Spain and Australia. I invited Charles, Max & Kelly, Lando & Louisa, Carlos and Daniel to come to me in Hamburg. As far as I could remember, Lando and Max were the only ones who had been to Hamburg before, so the others would probably have a culture shock because of the many construction sites and the weather here. Luckily for us, the flights had a maximum time span of 15 minutes between each other, which meant we or I didn't have to wait too long with the others in the VIP area. The last to arrive were Charles, Max and Kelly. Charles and I still hadn't talked about what we were, but I greeted him with a kiss. "Did you miss me that much, Mon Amour?" he asked me, laughing. "Actually, Charlie!" I replied, whereupon Max and Kelly also greeted me with a hug. Shortly afterwards we found ourselves in the parking garage where everyone just looked at me confused about the bus. "Don't worry, I don't lead a double life, it's just rented!" I laughed and put all the luggage in the trunk. Charles immediately took a seat in the passenger seat, whereupon he received a strange look from Lando, who I couldn't identify. Everyone else took a seat in the back They were amazed at how comfortable the seats were. "So please don't be alarmed. Hamburg is one huge construction site!" I explained to the others and drove off towards my apartment. Charles was the only one who would stay with me because otherwise there would have been no room. I knew that Lando and Max would have been happy with the floor, but I didn't want to do that to Daniel, Carlos, Kelly and Louisa, so I booked the remaining 6 hotel rooms. When I arrived I parked the car and just pulled Charles' red travel bag out of the trunk. Luckily there was an elevator in the house otherwise none of us would have survived walking to the 7th floor. "It could be that Esteban is still sleeping! If that's the case, you don't have to be quiet, the guy has been sleeping since last night at 9:00 p.m.!" I laughed and we entered my apartment. To my surprise, Esteban had already cleaned up and was awake. "Hey guys! How was the flight ?" he asked her, knowing that everyone came on a private jet. "I flew for 17 hours relaxed, but at least I was able to sleep!" Daniel laughed at first. Charles, Lando and Max just looked at each other with a grin. "Well, I can't complain about a 2 1/2 hour flight time!" it came from the three at the same time. Daniel just looked at them all stupidly because he was the only one here who came from another continent on the other side of the world. "Wow, I flew off in the daylight and arrived back in the daylight!" he complained and sat down on the couch next to Esteban, the others did the same and I pulled Louisa into the kitchen. "So what's going on with you and Lando now? " I asked her curiously. She turned bright red. "Well, we got together shortly before the end of my semester in June and when he found out that I would be doing the next semester in London, he offered me to move in with him so that I wouldn't have to look for an apartment!" she grinned completely from the Brit. I happily hugged her. "And what's going on with you and Charles???" she now asked curiously. "We haven't talked about it yet, it feels like we're in a relationship, but this constant rivalry on the track is bothering me, especially because I always give 200% when driving, you know that!" I explained to her. She nodded understanding. "Well now let's enjoy your birthday tomorrow! I'm looking forward to driving karts again! Then we'll talk again." She said sympathetically and we went to the others. Este had already put drinks out for everyone. "Y/N, I looked at the kart track on Google maps, it's really cool! Do we really have it for ourselves?" Charles asked curiously. I nodded, "yes, just us and the owner, he has to be there!" I then heard an okay from everyone. In the evening I cooked my favorite meal for everyone and judging by the looks they now had a new favorite dish too. Afterwards we talked a bit before I took her to the hotel.

"I have reserved 4 rooms on Ocon!" I smiled at the lady at the reception. She immediately looked for the reservation and gave me the key cards. I took the others to the elevator. "I'll pick you up here at 10 tomorrow morning If you're not there, you're unlucky!" I said before the elevator closed. Charles had been waiting in the car because I wanted to show him my favorite place on the Elbe. "So where are we going?" he asked curiously as we drove off. I shrugged my shoulders. "You'll see!" I laughed and started Spotify. Charles looked impatiently out of the window to get an idea of where he was going. About half an hour later we arrived at a small parking lot where I got out. Charles followed me hesitantly. "Do you want to kidnap me and sink me in the Elbe, Mon Amour?" he asked in a panic. "No, that's not possible here anyway, the water is too shallow for that!" I laughed as I took off my shoes and took a step into the cold water. Charles didn't hesitate for long and did the same. "It's really nice and quiet here!" he smiled as he hugged me and we watched the sunset. "That's why it's my favorite place here in Hamburg!" I smiled and laid my head on his chest. Shortly before our feet froze, we went back onto the small pebble beach and sat down. Nobody said anything anymore and we just enjoyed the togetherness. After a while we both noticed that we were both getting tired and decided to go back. When I got home, Esteban was already sound asleep, which made me giggle. I quickly went into the bedroom and lay down next to Charles, who had already made himself comfortable, where I quickly fell asleep.
