Beomgyu POV
Seeing my nurse saying not a single word to me inside the conference room, I assume that he doesn't talk much. But oh do I get proven wrong? Yes, I do. I get proven wrong the very moment we come out of the conference room.

"So, you're friends with Dr. Kang's son?"

He asks and I nod in response.

"I've heard that Dr. Kang's son is very athletic and he plays on the school's volleyball team. Which position does play in?"

"He's our team's OPP."

I reply.

"Oh, really? I used to play as an opposite hitter back in the day too!"

His reply makes me take a proper look at him. He actually does have an athletic figure. He's tall and looks very strong and muscular. Even if he has given up volleyball, he hasn't probably given up training like an athlete.

"I wanted to be a volleyball player, originally. I was preparing that way and I even got called to play in the national team. My family wasn't that well-off and I wanted to continue my college studies even as an athlete. So, they offered me a scholarship at Korea University but during my last semester in high school, my mother got into a terrible car accident and had to stay at the hospital. My dad had to stay at Gwangju for work which is why he couldn't visit very often. My older sister and I took turns to stay with her. A nurse was assigned to take care of my mother and she took her job very seriously. Saying that she was extremely dedicated to her profession sounds less, to be honest. She used to take care of my mother better than us. I was so inspired by her that I decided to not go for the national team and study nursing, instead. I got into Yonsei University. I didn't quit playing, though. I was on the college team till I graduated. After that, I focused more on my studies to be able to graduate at the top of my class, and after that, I joined here and started working."

He narrates half of his life story to me and I listen attentively, finding it intriguing. Once he ends, he then proceeds to question me.

"Do you play any sports, young man?"
