A/N POV
Dr. Kang sits silently, staring into nowhere with a pair of furrowed eyebrows and a crease forming between them; letting the others in the room know how absorbed he was in his thoughts. Jaejoon and Haewon stand silently in front of him with their heads lowered in guilt and fear. As the director of the medical board, Dr. Kang had the right to suspend them, submit a bad report about them to the authority, or even worse, he can have their residency program canceled. Jaejoon gulps one more time, feeling his throat getting drier as time keeps ticking and the silence keeps getting heavier.
"What exactly happened?"
Dr. Kang finally speaks up. Jaejoon steals a glance at his colleague who does the same. He sighs and decides to speak up, seeing her being much more scared than him.
"We arrived before anyone else and I was complaining about getting bored when Haewon asked if you were going to tell Beomgyu about his condition and everything regarding that. Even the thing about his heart failure. I told her that you were probably going to take things slowly and as we were discussing this, he suddenly just came in, about to break down, and asked, "Am I going to die?". Haewon tried to answer him but couldn't say a single thing. So, he got to know what was going to happen and just ran away. Haewon wanted to run after him but I stopped her. I figured that it was best if we let him be and waited till everyone else arrived."
He explains as calmly as possible, trying his best to resist his urge to say that it wasn't his fault.
"And he hasn't opened his door since... He's physically ok, I think because I can hear him cry and all that. He told me to not disturb him two times already."
Mr. Jung speaks up, letting out a sigh; making it clear that he was worried about the young boy. Dr. Kang also sighs, trying to think of what he could do.
"What do we do now, Dr. Kang?"
One of the other senior doctors asks. Dr. Kang looks her in the eyes and says,
