On the other side of the gate was a dirt road that led to a village in the distance. Kai sighed and began to trudge up the road, taking in her surroundings as she did so. Romania was absolutely stunning. The village was made up of what looked to be stone cottages and nestled in the middle of a large valley next to a calm river. The valley rolled into hills that led to high, snow-capped mountains surrounding it completely. Kai inhaled in awe, still shocked that she got to call this place her home, even if she wasn't quite sure where she was supposed to be going.

She casually ambled down the road that ran through the center of the town. It wasn't really even big enough to be considered a town, be honest, mostly filled with small shops. She walked down the road and a dog or two came up to say hi as she passed a grocery shop, a potion shop, a bookstore, and a pharmacy before coming to a stop in front of a large cottage with "Sanctuary Headquarters" written on top. It was located at the back of the town, with little homes clustered behind it.

Taking a deep breath, she pushed the door open and stepped inside, assuming this was where she was supposed to go. She looked around at the cozy office. There was a lot of natural sunlight from the large windows, and a pretty blonde girl was sitting at a desk in front of her. Her hair was very light and a little shorter than her shoulders. Her bright blue eyes looked up as Kai entered.

"Hi," she smiled cheerfully at Kai. "How can I help you?"

Kai bit her lip at the question. "Hello. I'm here to be the new healer. I'm not really sure where I'm supposed to go. I wasn't given a lot of information," she chuckled at the end of the sentence. She wasn't given any information to be honest. She had sent her resume and test scores to the European Ministry of Magic a month ago in hopes of being placed somewhere after passing her Healer's exam. Last week she had received a letter from the European Ministry headquarters, located in London, stating she was to begin her new position in six days. She had no problem packing up her life in a few days, but the only information she was given was to be at the International Portkey Office on March 12th.

The girl behind the desk tilted her head at her American accent and then her eyes widened in surprise at Kai's eyes. Instead of making any comment though, she looked down at the paperwork on her desk, shuffling through a few. "Ahh, here we go!" She grinned cheerfully. "Kailani Lee. American. Passed Ministry Healer Exam six months ago. Experience healing people and beasts," the girl began to quietly talk to herself as she read through Kai's resume on her desk. "Ok! Everything seems to be in order," she spoke brightly. "Please take a seat and we'll start your new hire paperwork. I'm Chelsea. I work the front office for the sanctuary. Let me be the first to welcome you."

Kai sat in one of the comfortable chairs across from the desk, setting her duffle bag on the floor next to her, as the girl handed some papers her way. Chelsea handed her a pen and Kai looked down at the paperwork to begin filling it out. She noticed that there was also a computer on the desk and was only a little surprised by the muggle technology. She had spent the past few years traveling, and had found that most places in the wizarding world had begun to use certain muggle items, realizing their efficiency. Many places had entire teams dedicated to allowing muggle technology to work in the magic of the wizarding world. And no one could deny that Google was far better than having to comb through old books for hours in a dusty library.

Ten minutes later, she handed the completed paperwork back to Chelsea. The girl took it with a grin before setting it off to the side. "Perfect. Follow me please," She stood up from the desk and Kai got up to follow. "You can leave your bag there," She said before Kai could grab it. "I'm going to take you to meet Mr. Weasley. He's in charge of the sanctuary, and he will take you to your cabin and show you around."
