** Trigger Warning for foul language **

"How did you do that?" Cooper asked as she finished with Elliot, pulling her gloves off and throwing them in the trash.

Kai didn't answer. Her mind was racing. Why did only Sawyer have the darkness in him? It had to be from a bite wound. But it wasn't rabies. One, she knew the feeling of rabies. She's seen it before in creatures. And two, dragons were impervious to all kinds of "regular" diseases. Which meant this was something bad. If it could infect a dragon, it was dangerous in a way that no one had experienced before. Even the eldest of the monks at the sanctuary in Asia had never mentioned anything like that. Plus she had the inkling feeling of a reminder. Some puzzle piece she was missing. An itch she couldn't scratch.

"Did Sawyer get bit?" She asked the two men sharply.

"We all fell down," Cooper had the decency to at least look ashamed as he stared at the floor, knowing everyone knew it was a lie.

"Cooper, I swear to go God if you don't tell me the truth, I'll feed you to that damn dragon myself," her harsh tone left no room for discussion, only answers. And where was Charlie?

"Yes," Elliot's voice was full of concern, and possibly fear from her tone. "But neither of us did." He supplied the answer to her next question without her having to ask.

"What happened?" She did her best to channel as much of Charlie as she could, trying to make her voice commanding. She was rarely authoritative, but she didn't have time to discuss or argue at the moment. Was she stubborn? Absolutely. But she rarely gave orders without hesitation, unless she was in healer mode.

"We couldn't knock her out," Elliott's voice was laced with sadness and a hint of desperation. "She wasn't even full grown. Two of us should have been able to handle her, let alone three. But she snapped Sawyer's wand and nearly tore him apart without any warning. I've never seen a Common Welsh act like that."

The blood drained from Kai's face as nerves settled in her stomach. Common Welsh's were rarely aggressive. They were known for being timid and shy of humans.

"Where is Charlie?" She looked at both boys, anger flaring bright in her amber eyes, daring them to not answer.

"England. He took Kellen, Rick, and Henry to handle her and bring her back. Don't worry," Cooper tried to reassure her, clearly seeing the worry on her face, "Charlie knows every trick in the book. They'll get her here in no time."

Kai just nodded, hoping they were right. It's not like she could apparate to England and do something about it. She sighed, sometimes she hated the limitations that her magic had.

"Now, about what you did to Sawyer," Cooper began, pulling her out of her thoughts. She raised an eyebrow. "Where the fuck did that come from?" He sat on her desk while Elliot stayed sitting in the chair.

"What do you mean?" She was planning on playing it dumb. No sense in giving them information they didn't ask for.

"You healed him without your wand. Like literally stitched him back together," he scrunched his face at the memory. She couldn't blame him. It was disconcerting to watch a healing, bones, ligaments and skin fuzing back together. "But your wand was on the desk the whole time. You didn't move to grab it once."

Fucking hell. She needed to start remembering to use her wand. Or at least pretend to. She let out a heavy exhale and shrugged her shoulders, "I've specialized in healing for years. I've learned to hone my magic so that a wand isn't necessary for the most part. But it only works for healing," she chuckled softly. "Trust me, I'm basically useless with all other spells and charms, even with a wand." It was nearly the exact same answer as the one that she gave Charlie. And it was true, for the most part.
