September 5th, AL 1 - 10:14 A.M.

Wren hadn't looked at what was in the container yet. He was waiting on the roof of the Hangar for Blu to show up. The plan was for them to find out what it was together but Wren was growing impatient. Just then Blu peered over the opening in the roof.

"Sorry I'm late, I decided to go around the long way just in case that nut from the Cosmodrome told anyone in the FWC Hangar about us."

"I don't think he saw our faces but can't be too careful I guess."

Wren flipped the container in his hand,
"Ready to see what this is all about?"

Blu scooted closer to Wren. Wren pressed the grey button on the top of the container. The yellow exterior quickly slid into the edges of the cylinder to reveal a clear tube.

Inside was something neither of the two had ever seen before.

A floating sphere, glowing white but also tinted with a pure black substance. The two colors faded together, and the object glowed inside the container.

(16) Blu leaned in closer. "What the heck is that?"

Wren inspected the container. "No idea, but I'm glad it's not in the Future War Cult's hands. There's gotta be some sort of book or archive on it in the Tower Library, right?"

Blu shrugged. "Or you could just show it to the Vanguard..."

Wren quickly looked up at Blu with a confused expression.

Blu thought about his proposal for a moment. "Ok, that actually would be a bad idea."

"Let's just go to the Library Archive."

The two climbed down the roof and onto the Hangar catwalk. The Library was on the other side of the Tower so they would have to make their way past the Hangar Vendors, including the Future War Cult.

Wren carefully watched the FWC office and those inside as they walked past. One of the members began to look out the window and Wren quickly pulled Blu's cloak over his head and leaned in close. He pretended to laugh at something Blu said and he went along with it. The two made their way out of the Hangar and towards the library, but something stopped the two in their tracks.

The figure from the Forgotten Shore was looking for them, and they had just been spotted.

The man didn't hesitate. He sprinted towards Wren and the capsule that was now hanging on his belt. Both of them ran straight back towards the Hangar. The Tower was more empty than usual so almost nobody noticed the crazed War Cult Member looking for the two Hunters. Wren and Blu had fixed themselves behind a maintenance rack, figuring out how they were going to get out of this.

Wren turned to his friend, "We can't just stay in the Tower, he'll look until he finds us, plus he'll have help with all his buddies in here."

"Can you contact anyone?"

"My phone and radio are up in my room on the catwalk, and..." Wren motioned up towards the railings above them. The man was guarding Wren's room. Wren looked over to where Holliday was working and noticed the jetpack prototype they had been working on sitting right next to her.

I have an idea, but l'm gonna need a distraction.
"I have another gunpowder grenade." Blu took the Solar grenade off his belt.

Wren smiled. "Perfect."

There were multiple War Cult members looking for them now, and Blu had to wait for the perfect moment. He saw a window, and threw his grenade in the air, shooting it when it was high enough to not hurt anyone. It may not have caused injury but it sure scared everyone in the Hangar. Wren sprinted towards Amanda's hanger area as the cult members realized what was going on.

Wren slid towards Holliday, grabbing the jetpack prototype.

"Do they work?" Wren asked quickly.

"Does what work? And what the heck was that explosion?" Amanda was also bewildered by the gunpowder bomb.

Wren quickly responded "Doesn't matter right now. The wings, do they work?" Amanda could see the urgency in Wren's face. She looked over and saw the War Cult members approaching.

"Yeah, but they haven't been tested..."

"Perfect time to test them then I guess." Wren quickly put on the pack and sprinted towards the docking bay as Amanda watched in confusion. He was being chased by at least 4 people now, but his speed outran them easily. The FWC members and Blu's "distraction" had caught the attention of everyone in the Hangar, Guardians and citizens watched as Wren leaped off the edge of the docking bay and down towards the city.
Blu watched from a nearby catwalk as his partner jumped off the Tower.

"You've gotta be kidding me..."

In the corner of the Hangar watching the whole thing unfold was Shiro. He was getting ready to congratulate Wren on his first completed scouting mission. He sprinted over to see why his new friend just leaped off the Tower dock. Just then Wren activated the jetpack. A metal pair of wings shot out of the sides as the two propulsion systems on the bottom activated. The jetpack worked, but he would need to find a landing place quickly since the fuel was only good for five minutes.

Blu and Shiro ran over to eachother.

"What the heck was that?"

"I can explain in a second, but we need to go find Cayde." Blu sprinted out of the Hangar and Shiro followed.

The two made their way towards the Vanquard office and composed themselves to not alert the rest of the Vanguard. The two walked inside.

Shiro put on his best calm and collected voice. "Hey, can we borrow Cayde for a bit?" Zavala was currently immersed in a map, talking with Ikora about future exploration strategies.

"Sure." Zavala motioned without even looking up. Shiro gave Cayde a look of urgency as he noticed that Wren wasn't there. The three quickly made their way out of the office. Zavala looked up and asked, "Say, where's Wren? He's usually always with you."

"He's uhh, testing out a prototype him and Amanda were working on." Blu didn't lie, he just left out some key details.

"Very well." Zavala went back to his map.
Cayde, Shiro, and Blu zipped their way out of the office.

"So what's happened now?" Cayde asked.

"Me and Wren stole something from the Future War Cult and now they're after him. Also he jumped off the Hangar dock and he's flying around somewhere."

"What!? That's... actually really cool. But where is he now?"

Blu thought for a second, "I'm not sure, but he said he was going to hide outside of the City."

"Then he needs all the help he can get." Cayde made his way to the Hangar towards his ship, Blu and Shiro urgently followed.
