(23) The corridors of the Terrestrial Complex were dark, another abandoned piece of the collapse. Nobody had been here for years besides some pockets of Hive, and the House of Kings.
Rivis led the way while Cayde and Shiro followed close behind, guns drawn. Blu helped carry Wren as they quickly but quietly paced through the dark underground tunnels. Distant hisses and screeches could be heard around them. The Hive always hid in the dark, waiting to assault anyone that disturbed their domain. They had to be stealthy, which lucky for them they had the Vandal for the job. Rivis knew almost every tunnel, hallway, and escape route of the underground complex. He had been here countless times, trying to crack the Rasputin code at what was the last array in the Cosmodrome.
Rivis snaked his way through the tunnels until the group arrived at an opening to a room where there were dozens of mechanical machines, created to make and produce Exos, just like Rivis had said. On the wall to the right there was a console. Rivis ran over to it and began typing.
Shiro watched as the Vandal typed away at the command console, "You really aren't like the rest of them, are you?""No, I guess not." Rivis was still laser focused on the command console.
Cayde walked over and watched as the Vandal typed, "Since when did you have time to learn two languages?" Everything was in Russian. Cayde's suspicions of it being Rasputin were correct, but how did this Eliksni learn to communicate with it?
Rivis slightly turned his head, making sure he didn't waste any time not typing. "I was tasked with trying to crack this system, so naturally I had to force myself to learn the language. I've never been able to access anything inside, but I've had quite a few interesting conversations. This Warmind isn't just a machine, it's extremely intelligent."
A communication prompt appeared on the screen. Suddenly a camera above the console turned on as it moved around, scanning the environment along with the people in front of it. Rivis began to type again as the camera focused in on him.
мне нужна услуга / I need a favor
A few seconds passed, then words began to appear on the screen, responding to Rivis.
каков ваш запрос / What is your request
Rivis responded. Вы можете запустить эту экзо фабрику? / Are you able to run this Exo Factory?
There was another brief pause. The camera didn't move off the Vandal. There was another brief response. The Al seemed to be reluctant to help the Fallen with anything.
Это возможно, да. / That is possible, yes.
Rivis quickly typed back into the console.
Мне нужно, чтобы ты помог мне превратить кого-то в экзо / I need you to help me turn someone into an Exo.The Warmind immediately responded,
Мои протоколы не позволяют мне помогать врагу Последнего Города и его жителям / My protocols prevent me from helping an enemy of The Last City and its people."C'mon Rasputin, work with me." Rivis was working as quickly as he could. Blu was in the back of the room, sitting with Wren trying to keep him as awake as possible. He was beginning to fade, and they didn't have much time left. Rivis couldn't let a stubborn Al kill his friend. He typed into the console once more.
Пожалуйста, они не Падшие. Это человек из Последнего Города. / Please, they're not Fallen. It's a human from the Last City.
