October 17-Hell's Kitchen, New York
The neon red lights from the sign burned your eyes as the music rang through your ears. It was some soft rock band that you didn't know. Not that you wanted to. Patrons filled the room with their unfunny jokes and loud laughs. But none of it mattered to you. All your attention was on him. You had seen him come in with his friends a couple times a week. He had dark brown hair and a smile that could make angels cry.
"Still staring at the beautiful stranger?" Shani asked in her soft English accent.
"What?" You scoffed. "No. I don't know what you talking about."
"Don't act like that, Tess. You know what I'm talking about."
"I'm not staring at him. I was just looking off into the distance."
"Why don't you just talk to him?"
"Because, I'm not interested in him."
"He's coming over here."
"Really?"
You quickly turned around and saw him still sitting in his seat.
"Made you look."
"You suck."
"He's hot. Why don't you just ask him on a date?"
"Someone that gorgeous definitely isn't single."
"Why don't you ask him yourself?" She asked as she pointed behind you.
"I'm not falling for that again."
"Excuse me?"
You turned around and saw him standing at the bar.
"Hi."
"Hi. Could I get three more beers, please?"
"Yeah. You need any help bringing them over?"
"That would be great, thanks."
You got the beers and walked over to hold his arm and lead him back to his table.
"Thank you..."
"Tessa."
"Tessa. I'm Matt."
"It's nice to put a name to the face."
"I would say the same, but..." He laughed as he gestured to his glasses.
You laughed as you set the beers down on the table.
"How is it that you always seem to find beautiful women?" The blonde man sitting at the table asked.
"It's like a sixth sense."
"I really hate you, you know that?"
"I'm well aware, Foggy."
"Thanks for helping him out." The woman next to him said. "He insists that he can manage on his own."
"I can manage just fine, Karen."
"It's really no problem. I don't mind."
"And she's a saint." The man pointed out. "She's right up your alley."
"I'm no saint. Trust me."

The bar slowly became emptier by the hour. You and Shani wiped glasses as people left. But one table was still there. The three of them laughed around the pool table as Matt tried and failed to shoot the balls.
"You should ask him if he needs a ride."
"He's a stranger, Shani."
"He's a blind stranger, Tess. How dangerous could he be?"
