October 20-Hell's Kitchen, New York
"Isn't he just so dreamy?" Shani asked as she stared at Matt's table.
"Yeah. Why do you think I slept with him?"
"Not Matt. Foggy."
"You must've been dropped as a baby."
"Quite a few times, actually."
The blonde man got up and went over to the bar.
"Hi. Can I get three bourbon shots?"
"You can have whatever you want."
"She means yes."
You poured the drinks and handed him the tray.
"Thanks."
"No problem."
"Listen, Matt isn't going to tell you himself, so I will. He really likes you."
"Oh, um, yeah, me too. I had a lot of fun the other night."
"You guys should hang out tonight."
"I can't. I have plans."
"Plans? It's almost midnight."
"Yeah, I taped this show earlier. I haven't gotten the chance to watch it yet."
"Oh. Okay. Next time."
"Next time."
He walked away and Shani turned to you and smiled.
"Did you see how he was looking at me?"
"Yeah, he was concerned for his safety. You're acting like an obsessed teenage girl."
"Not all of us can have the hot lawyer take us home, Tess."
"I guess I'm just lucky."

The cold air chilled your exposed skin as you kneeled on the rooftop. It was a quiet night. Which was good, but it was also boring. You heard a loud scream and quickly headed in that direction.
"Help!" The woman yelled as she tried to get away from her attacker.
You landed behind him in the alley and grabbed his hair, shoving him face first into the brick wall.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Thank you."
"Go."
She ran out of the alley as he got up and swung at you. You grabbed his arm and twisted it behind his back before kicking the back of his legs. He fell to the ground and used his other hand to pull out a knife. Before he could hurt you, someone kicked it out of his hand. He wore a red leather suit with horns on the helmet. You put both of his hands behind his back and laid him flat on the ground. You put your foot on his arms and looked over at the other man.
"Who are you?"
"You're welcome."
"Maybe you didn't hear me. Who are you?"
"I could ask you the same question."
"I asked first. Let me guess. The Devil of Hell's Kitchen?"
"You can call me Daredevil."
A smile crept onto your face and you tried to hide your laugh.
"Daredevil?"
"What's wrong with that?"
"Nothing. It just caught me off guard."
"What's your name then?"
"Angel of Death."
"That's...really good, actually."
"Thanks."
"Can I go now?" The criminal asked.
"No!" You both yelled in unison.
"So, do you take them to the police, or..." You asked.
"I usually just rough them up a bit and leave them for the cops to find."
"You and I have a lot in common."
"Do you want to do the honors?"
"I've already had a long night."
"I insist."
"Really?"
"By all means."
"You wanna take turns?"
"I like that idea."

It was around 2:00 and the both of you were sitting on a rooftop with your feet dangling off the ledge.
"How come I've never seen you around?" You asked. "I mean, I've heard of you, obviously. I think all of New York has. But I've never actually run into you."
"I've heard of you too. The Angel of Death lurking around the corner, waiting to strike."
"You live in Hell's Kitchen?"
"All my life."
"Me too. I love it, don't get me wrong. But it seems like when you're born here, you can never escape."
"I feel like that too sometimes."
"I've never met another...super person before. You?"
"A few."
"I'd give anything to have someone to talk to about this stuff."
"Now you do."
"How am I supposed to find you?"
"I have a feeling that we'll see each other around." He got up and and looked down at you. "Good night, Angel." He leapt from the rooftop and disappeared into the night.
