Chapter 24: Exposed

Narrator's POV:

Izuku gasps for air and sits up with a start, waking up Bakugo out of his nap. Izuku bursts into tears, Bakugo hugging the other close and shushing him. "It's okay Deku, shhh, it's okay, what's the matter?"

Izuku blabbered and cried, holding onto the other and wrapping his arms around him. There was no possible way, there was no way to explain this to anybody, especially not Bakugo. He didn't even have all the answers himself, so how was he supposed to explain to Bakugo that Reno could still be alive??

"Deku, talk to me please." Bakugo whispered to him, running his hand through the others hair and holding him close to his body.

"R-Reno...I-I saw Reno.." Bakugo felt his blood run cold, and he froze, looking down at the other with wide eyes. "...what?"

"I-I saw him, he was with a bunch of scientists and in a lab and-" "Izuku. Shut up." Bakugo said plainly, staring down at him. Izuku looked up at him, a bit hurt.

"Listen, it was just a dream, and I really don't wanna hear about the nightmare about my dead best friend, especially not one that's got you shaken up like this." Bakugo sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, shaking his head.

"O-Okay...but that's the thing, Kacchan, he's-" "Deku." Bakugo spoke in a warning voice, letting the other go.

"Please! Would you just listen to me?? I think he's still alive!!" Bakugo stared at the other, a few seconds pass and he scoffs and laughs. "Are you fucking kidding me? Are you fucking with me?"

Izuku looked at him with sad eyes, he was hoping the other would believe him, take him seriously. "W-Would you at least consider-" 

"Consider what Deku? Huh? He's dead. And how would you know if he was alive?? What the hell is wrong with you? Are you trying to give me false hope?" Bakugo stood up and fussed at him, running a hand through his blonde hair.

Izuku just stared at him, tears welling up in his eyes. "Well I was just trying to help! T-The dream felt too real to be just a dream! I-I think somehow, I went into the past and talked to him! I talked to him Kacchan!"

Bakugo groaned and sat back on the bed. "Okay, let's say I humored you a little, Reno's alive, somewhere. How will we get him? Huh? We don't even know where he's at. We don't know where he could be at. Even if we re-put in a police report for the other, we have no evidence rather than 'you saw him in a dream'. Do you see how crazy that sounds? You see why it's hard to believe you?"

Izuku stayed quiet, he knew what he was saying, but it was frustrating because he knows what he saw, and what he heard, and what he said. The only thing Izuku couldn't do was prove it.

"...I hate it but you're right.." Izuku admitted quietly, and Bakugo's face softened a bit, seeing the other so defeated made him feel horrible.

"...Listen, Deku, I wanna believe you. I wanna believe my childhood friend is out there, somewhere, still alive. But I can't, all we would be going off of is a dream. And plus, we can't worry about an old problem right now, we have people after us and we don't know why. Our lives are in danger." Bakugo grabs Izuku's hand, and Izuku just nodded and crawled over to him, hugging him close.

Bakugo hugs him back, kissing his head. Izuku sighed as he went into a deep thought, focusing on the desk for a moment as he zoned out to think.

But he could've swore he saw the remote float for a second before clambering to the floor, Bakugo cursing and going to pick it up.

Todoroki's POV:

I open the door for Uraraka and Tsu, we had went to the store for a little so that we could use up my shitty dad's credit card. I walk beside them as they talk, and I zone out for a bit until I hear a name pop up in the conversation.

"Hey, have you spoke with Izuku?" Uraraka asks Tsu, and the green girl shakes her head no. "It's a little worrying, he just suddenly goes missing without a trace. And especially since he moved into that new apartment and he spent the night with that man."

"Speaking of, did he ever tell us who that man was?" "No, he didn't tell me, what about you Todoroki?" I shrug, shaking my head. "I haven't heard a word since me and him fought."

Uraraka stops in her tracks and looks at me, Tsu following foot. "What?? What did you two fight about??" I have to make up something quick on the spot, if I tell them the real reason, it wouldn't end well for me.

"Izuku said he wanted a relationship, and when I refused, he tried to force himself onto me." Uraraka gasps and shakes her head. "Well I'll be! I never knew Izuku was that type of person!"

But Tsu knew better, and she looked at me for a moment with suspicious eyes. But before she could question me, their taxi had came, and Uraraka was just talking on and on about how you never really know a person.

The girls get in the taxi, Tsu giving me one last suspicious look before getting in with the brunette, shutting the door and the taxi driving away.

I go on my phone and text an unsaved number that I'm on my way, and I head for the train station, my hands in my pockets as I think about my next big purchase on my dad's card.
