Chapter seventeen: wedding gifts

"Oh Yuna, I brought young lady Jin to help you with the dresses today, thank you for choosing to do it later instead of earlier, gives us time to set things up" maidservant Kim said as she and bu-yeon intered the room at Chwiseonru.

"I'm going to go get the stylist, you two wait here" she said, then left.

"Congratulations, im so happy for you and Dang-gu" Bu-yeon said lightly.

I smiled at her "thank you, same to you and uk"

She looked confused "how- how did you know" I laughed, "you're practically glowing, so either you and uk are back on good terms or you found someone else" I said.

She shook her head "it's Uk"

I smiled at her "see, im always right"

She nodded "you are" it was quiet for a moment after she said that then a knock sounded at the door.

"Come in" I said.

The door opened to reveal Ju-wol "hi Yuna, congratulations to you and dang-gu, I heard from maidservant Kim that you had some stomach issues this morning, so i brought you some tea, I'll just leave it here"

"Oh that's right, I think it's just nerves, thank you so much" I said. She smiled, and left.

I turned back to Bu-yeon, who had a peculiar look on her face. "Do... do you really think it's nerves?" She asked.

"What do you mean?" I asked her, confused because she's been acting off.

"I mean, i think... I think you're pregnant" she said.

"What?"

"If im right, and what master Heo said was correct, then, yuna, you're pregnant" she said.

I swallowed hard, not knowing how to react to this news. Pregnant? But me and Dang-gu aren't even married yet? What will everyone think?

"I'm sure since you and Dang-gu are getting married tonight, everything will be fine, no one will even know" she said.

"Yeah, I know, I just... I just didn't expect it to happen"

"Does anyone expect it? But I'm positive I'm right, and that you are. You can always have Master Heo check" she said.

I nodded my head "i will, thank you Young Lady Jin"

She nodded, she went to say something else but the door opened revealing Maidservant Kim and the stylist, along with a large assortment of dresses.

"That one's beautiful on you" Bu-yeon said as I tried on the fifth dress of the day.

I nodded "I think this is the one"

Maidservant Kim gasped "it is pretty, is this one of the ones in lord parks budget?" She asked the stylist.

"Yes, it's actually the cheapest one we have to offer, it's plan and simple but it's pretty also, besides, he told that there wasn't a budget, are you sure it's this one miss?" He asked me.

I nodded again, "yes, this is the one...I'm sure"

"Alright! Well, I'll take my leave then, congratulations on your wedding ms" the man said before leaving.

"You have some time before your wedding, is there anything you'd like to do after you get changed back?" Maidservant Kim asked.

"I need to go see Master Heo. If that's alright?" I asked her. She nodded her head, a confused look on her face.

"I'll be back in time, I'll take bu-yeon with me" I said, taking bu-yeon's hand and pulling her out of the room.

"Can you tell if someone's pregnant by looking at their energy?" I asked Master Heo as we walked into Sejukwon.

"what?" Master Heo asked.

"Bu-yeon thinks I'm pregnant. Can you check and make sure she's right? She says based it off what you told her and her own knowledge, I want to make sure, please Master Heo"

He looked a mix of shocked and amused, before he motioned for me to lay on the bed. I laid down, and got comfortable. He came close and put his hands above my stomach, and it took only a second before he retracted them, laughing.

"You are.Bu-yeon was right, you are pregnant Yuna" he said.

It felt like the world stopped, pregnant? Me? How will I even tell Dang-gu, and on our wedding day?

"Thank you, Master Heo, please keep this to yourself for the time being, I want to tell Dang-gu before anyone else knows" I said.

He nodded his head, bidding us a goodbye, shaking his head, before going back to whatever he was doing.

When we got outside, bu-yeon stopped and turned to me "how are you going to tell him?"

I sighed "I have no idea, but I'll think of something, I need to go get ready, thank you for telling me, by the way" I said.

She nodded "I should go to Uk, I'll see you at your wedding" she said, then turned away.

Pregnant....

Getting married....

What a day.

"You look beautiful" Maidservant park said "I'm glad you're no longer his servant, but his lady now"

"Thank you, Maidservant Park" I said.

"She does look beautiful doesn't she? My beautiful wife" Dang-gu said, coming beside me.

The wedding went well, it was small like we wanted, yet a lot of our friends were there. It was a great night and I'll never forget it.

"You two better go, enjoy your first night as newly weds. And don't have to much fun" she said teasing us. 

We both laughed at her little comment. "Of course, have a good night" I told her.

"Come on" Dang-gu said, taking my hand in his, leading me back to our room.

"I finally have a family" I said, quietly. I heard Dang-gu make a sound of disagreement from across the room, where he was doing something, then walking towards me.

"What?" I asked.

"You've always had a family, Uk, Yul, uncle, me, we've always been your family" he said, hugging me from behind.

"And soon, we'll have our own" i told him. He froze for a moment. "W-What do you mean?" He asked.

"I mean" I said, taking his hands from their position and laying them on my stomach. "...I'm pregnant"

It was quiet for a moment, I almost thought he was going to leave, but then I felt wetness on my shoulder. I turned around to find him silently crying.

"Oh... do you need some time?"

He shook his head in response. "These are happy tears, I just, you took me by surprise, but this is the best thing that's ever happened to me, well, besides you"

I laughed a little. Maybe this entire thing isn't as bad as I thought it would be, he's happy, I'm happy. What could go wrong?
