FREDDIE'S POV

- Tonight it's been the strangest night of my life -Jim murmured, his face still blushed, rubbing his cheeks against the pillow.

- You look like it's been the nicest night of your life -I disagreed at his back, trailing my fingertip along the spot of skin behind his ear.

- It could be -he heaved out a sigh, rolling over just to meet my lips, so deeply in love.

Jim had made a huge effort as he accepted that Winnie's dinner invitation that caught me by surprise. But after the initial doubts, my Irish had made up his mind and we were standing opposite the nice four-storey building who once it was a laundry room in center Munich, Sebastiansplatz, 4. Sebastianseck, Winnie's restaurant.

Winnie Kirchberger. I was aware of how complex this situation was. I never had asked anybody for walking hand in hand through this unknown territory, through that one way street that meant a love relationship bound to end. But not yet. And I was asking my new love for coming with me to put down those flames. Bizarre?

Winnie was still a neverending source of contradictions and when I left them alone with their beers, I did it seemingly with a light heart. But far from the reality. I was worried about something serious could happen between them. The German got a very explosive temper sometimes and my Jim was quiet and easy-going but he didn't admit nonsense. I was sure there was a dormant lion underneath that beautiful and sturdy chest. Kirchberger was prone to provocations and knew how to hurt accurately, Jim was his jealousy's target and he might take advantage to make up for it. He could make my treasured lucky clover losing his mind. Even though he was sensible, elegant, rational, intelligent. I hoped he didn't get tramped.

It was a pleasant surprise the outcome of their meeting. My mind had started to lucubrate about a lot of other not so pleasant scenarios. A romantic dinner arranged for us in his restaurant could may mean that he just let us past and admitted his "surrender". Jim was the winner in my heart and he was ready to start off a new relationship with me. Only a friendship. We still got some hours together before he would catch the flight back to London and I wanted my easy transition from Winnie to Jim could be successful.

Jim was not exactly excited about that date. He kept saying we should have a quick dinner and get out of there as soon as possible. I agreed.

- Guten Abend, Freunde. Willkommen in meinem bescheidenen Heim.

- Cut the crap, mein Schatz. You can speak more English than you admit.

I kissed his cheek sweetly as Jim was staring at us and suddenly he tore away his gaze to look around the restaurant. He felt awkward as though he got a swarm of bees sneaking into his pants. He was so focused in play the situation down and enjoy the night together but it was getting hard for him. That's for sure. Poor little thing.

The place was quite crowded as usual and also smelled wonderfully as usual. Before we could know, Winnie had vanished into the kitchen again and one of his waiters guided us to a very special corner just for us. A cute rounded table with linen tablecloth, special glassware, cutlery and dishes. There were some romantic candles, dim lights and two red roses, each by our two plates. Background relaxed music and the restaurant bustle was relatively far away from our little "hiding place". Though the corner was part of the local and some people were quite near, it was clearly a special place, decorated only for us. Could it be a Winnie's idea?
