Chapter 8

After a while, Rohan appeared from the inspector's room. He gestured Sneha to follow him. Sneha slapped on Arohan's back to call him and said
"Amak jaabo dise sage. Rohane dekhun matise."
As Arohan opened his mouth to say something, the police appeared. He said
"Ene bhul nokoribo. Aapunaar intention beya nathakileo xomaajor nojor beya. Xaabodhane solibo. Jaaok etiya."
Arohan stood and forwarded his hand for a shake. As they shook hands, he said
"Thank you sir."
They went out where Rohan was waiting. He was leaning against his car. As they came out, Sneha went and hugged him
"Thank you Rohan. You're the bestest brother."
Rohan rolled his eyes. He pushed her and said
"Iman tel maribo nalage. Eneo khurik kom moi."
She didn't say anything. Arohan kept standing alongside Aditi. Rohan said
"Tor gaari khon kaali nibo paarim. Aaji mor garitei jabo lagibo. UNFORTUNATELY!"
Arohan turned his face and looked for a cab on his phone. Rohan again said,
"Raati 11:30 bajise. Mor logot bol."
Arohan was clearly irritated. He opened the back door and sat inside. He slammed closed the door. Aditi kept waiting outside. Rohan opened the door and said
"Bohaa."
She quietly went inside and sat beside Arohan. Sneha sat in the front passenger seat.
Rohan put a song in the car and opened the window. Arohan got furious and said
"Bondho kor gaan. Glass maar"
Rohan reacted like he couldn't hear anything. He ignored him and kept driving. Arohan understood that it was useless to tell him something. He kept quiet.
Rohan took a turn leading to Arohan's home. Arohan said
"Ki hol? Aage Aditi hotok he nomabo lagisil!"
Rohan lowered the volume and said
"Ihotii 12 ta bojaat ki khbo? Aitak moii bhaat daali thoii dii xubo koisu."
Arohan gave a slight smile without anyone noticing. He turned to see Aditi. She was looking outside. He hands were folded. He lowered his gaze and looked at her hands. He saw something red in her hands. He realized that she was squeezing her hand with nails. He grabbed her hand and quickly pulled it away. He gave a disappointed look and said
"Pagol hoisa neki? Korii ki asa?"
Aditi didn't react. She kept looking outside. Her hand was bleeding. Rohan and Sneha turned back. Arohan said
"Rohan, kiba band aid ase?"
Rohan gestured with his head towards the cabinet in front of Sneha and said
"Tate ase. Sneh ulaai de sun."
She quickly opened the cabinet and pulled out the first aid box. She turned and gave it to Arohan. Arohan opened the box and took some cotton and iodine. He cleaned her wound and applied the iodine. The ointment burnt her hands and she pulled her hands. Arohan started to blow her wound and said
"Sorry sorry. Besike bixaaise neki?"
She shook her head without looking back. Arohan took out a band aid and applied it on the wound. Aditi slowly pulled her hands away from Arohan. He let her hands go. Rohan looked at the rear mirror and said
"Besike goise nkii saal?"
Arohan nodded his head. He put his arms on seat towards Aditi's shoulders. He kept whispering
"Sob thik hoii jbo. Ghorot gom napaai diya. Promise."
Aditi was zoned out. Arohan couldn't do anything. He kept sitting.
Finally they reached Arohan's house. The security opened the gate and they went inside. Sneha accompanied Aditi while Rohan and Arohan went individually.

The house was like a mansion. The entrance door was almost as big as Aditi's house's two windows. Arohan put his fingerprints and opened the door. They entered the house. The living room had two big couches with matching armchairs and curtains. There was a big table in the middle of the room with fresh roses. The big wall contained a photograph of Arohan, Rohan with their grandparents, another photos of their parent's wedding. The other wall contained 3 big paintings.
Arohan switched on the main lights and gestured Aditi to sit in the couch. While she hesitated, Sneha grabbed her hands and sat her down. Suddenly, a man appeared from one of the rooms. He walked towards then, rubbing his eyes. Arohan said,
"Baba, bhaat diyok. Aaji 4 jon manuh."
He put a smile on his face and said
"Arohan babu, tumaloke haat mukh dhuii aha. Aaru euk sini pua naai je."
He pointed towards Aditi. Arohan replied
"Eijoni Aditi. Amar office te kaam kore. Aaji tahator ghoroleye goisilu. Ahote deri hol nhoi."
"Oh oh. Diya tumaloke mukh haat dhuii aaha."
He put his towel properly and went to the kitchen. Aditi was sitting silently. Sneha put her hands over hers and said
"Bolaa. Bhorii haat khini dhuii aahiba. Bhal lagibo."
She stood up and followed Sneha. Rohan went upstairs. Arohan kept watching him. For the first time, after so many years, he didn't feel anger towards Rohan. He sat down in the couch, leaned his head back and closed his eyes

Gajen baba, the servant in Arohan's grandparents home served the dinner for them. Aditi silently sat down and waited for others to start eating. Arohan came and sat near her. He brushed the hair from her face and said
"Khaai lua xonkale. Deri hoise."
She looked at him and gave a gloomy smile. Everyone started eating. Arohan kept checking on Aditi. She was eating properly. It was a relief for Arohan.
When they were done eating, Rohan went to hus grand mother's room. She was sleeping. Aditi and Sneha followed him. He switched on a dim light and kissed her forehead. She woke up. He gestured her to keep on sleeping. She gave a kiss on his cheek and brushed his hair. He returned and turned off the light. Seeing Aditi and Sneha on the door step,  he said
"Ki hol?"
Sneha shook her head and said
"Bol bol, jaai thaaku."
Rohan nodded and went outside. Arohan also followed him. Sneha said
"Toi jaabo nalage de. E amak thoi gusi jabo ghor."
"Kintu m..."
"Nalage diyok. Apuni rest louk."
Aditi interrupted him. He went towards her and held her shoulders. He whispered
"Xuii thakiba. Besike nabhabiba. I am always by you. Aaji ji hol hol aaru. Okay?"
Aditi nodded and looked at him. He smiled at her. She broke the eye contact and put her slippers on. Rohan unlocked the car and they sat inside. Arohan kept looking at the car going out. After the car became out of sight, he turned his face to the sky and closed his eyes.
Aditi and Sneha sat at the backseat. She was quiet. Rohan, while fixing the rear mirror, saw Aditi's hands. He said
"Aditi, haat khon bixaai ase neki?"
Aditi looked towards him at the mirror and said
"Naai. Thike ase."
Rohan nodded. He again said
"Hurt koribo mon gole putolaa etaa loii maari thakiba. Nijok kosto nidiba. "
Aditi nodded and smiled.
Sneha said
"Bowerok iman tips dii aaaso je?"
"Arre bhaai. Eii bowe jii koribo pare aaru aamar relationship. "
Aditi giggled at Rohan's words. She said
"Thank you."
Rohan looked astonished and said
"Kio?"
"Tumaloke mor mood cheer up kora babe."
Sneha gave her a quick side hug. Aditi closed her eyes and slept on Sneha's shoulder.
As they reached home, Sneha woke Aditi up. Rohan stopped the car and both Aditi and Sneha got off the car. Aditi opened the gate and went inside to open the door. Rohan stayed there until they went inside.
Aditi turned on the lights and gave Sneha a towel to wash herself up. Sneha went to the bathroom and Aditi made the bed.
Sneha came out and said
"Tumar roommate ketia ahibo Aditi?"
Aditi said
"Kaile ahibo sage. Khobor e puaa naai taair. Ki baa hol."
"Ouhh."
Aditi again said
"Bed share korat toh problem naai?"
Sneha shook her head. She sat on the bed and said
"Aditi, hatot eneke hurt kio korila?"
She didn't say anything. Sneha again asked
"Mok kobo pariba."
"Najanu. Ketiyaba gom nupuwake nijok hurt kori diu."
"Kio?"
"Khong, hatred nijor uporot. "
Sneha kept quiet. She asked Aditi to sit down and said
"Tumii perfectly fine, janane? Xokolu manuhor jibonot kiba nohoi kiba problem thake. But that doesn't mean je tumar kiba fault ase. Just tumii nijok control koribo nuwara. Aaru xeitu bohut beya. So, I think tumi counseling t jaabo lage."
Aditi nodded her head. Sneha remembered something and said
"Oh.. mor ejoni friend counselor hoi. Moii taair logot kothaa paati tumar karone appointment etaa loi dim, okay?"
"Kintu!"
"Jaai sua."
"Maa hote gom pale loi jaabo."
"Nokole keneke gom paabo? Right? And tumar mental health besi important. So...?"
"Kintu kako nokoba please!"
Sneha nodded and lied on the bed. Aditi went to the bathroom and freshened up. She also came out and lied on the bed. As she opened the phone, she got a message fron Arohan.
"Good night, princess.♡"
She smiled and put her phone away and closed her eyes. She heard Sneha say
"Good night deii."
Aditi smirked and said
"Good night."
