Aditi's dad fell down on the ground. Something grabbed his chest. He crawled to the wall and leaned his head against it. The world felt falling down in his head. He kept breathing heavily and grabbed his chest with one of his hands. When Aditi's mom saw him, she ran to him and put her hand on his shoulders,
"Ki hoise apunar?"
Her voice was tensed and shaky.
He couldn't reply properly, but somehow blurted out,
"Majo....ni.... acci.... accident."
She fell on the floor and let out a loud shriek. Borma heard her scream and inside the room.
After knowing everything, the house was filled with grief. Some of their neighbours came to their house, hearing a lot of screaming. One of them decided to take them to Guwahati. Aditi's mom wasn't in the condition to say anything. Her dad somehow controlled himself and told one of the known people to take care of their house. But, someone told them to leave in the morning. Borma kept rubbing Aditi's mom's head and said,
"Etiya jai Lav nai, kaile ratipuai jai ulam, sinta nokoriba."
Rohan was taken to the hospital bed. He was lying, still whirling the thoughts of what happened in the matter of seconds. A nurse came near and asked him fold the sleeve of his shirt. He acted accordingly. She injected a needle inside the skin on his arms where his veins were visible. A rush of blood started accumulating in the plastic bottle hanging near him. His body was starting to become weaker and weaker. He closed his eyes.
Aditi's face started floating in front of his eyes. She was smiling. A rush of wind was messing with her hair. She was laughing and brushing her hair off her face. Talking slow steps towards him, she went close to him. The cold breeze touched his face too. She brought her hands close to his face, and softly touched. Suddenly he opened his eyes. That touch felt cold, freezing cold.
Seeing the nurse near him, he looked away, trying to hide the horror in his face. She came near him and brought the needle out of his hands. She said,
"Apuni iyatei olop rest kori thakok."
He kept lying on the bed. The touch stained his face. He could still feel the cold brush in his cheeks. Trying not to think about it, he took out his phone. There were missed calls from Arohan. Another terror stroke him. How would he handle him? If he knew, what would he say? Anyways, he placed a call to him. In a few rings, Arohan picked up the call.
"Iman phone kori asu. Dhoribo nuwaro neki?"
His voice was calm. That meant, he didn't know about it still. Rohan replied, trying to hide the pain in his voice,
"Xui asilu, ko."
"Ghor goi pali ne nai?"
He looked at the time. It was 7 pm. He waited for a moment.
"Nai, aji olop bahirot ulai ahisu."
"Hare, mak eneke eri nahibi. Xidina mor agot koi asil, ajikali bule okole thakibo bhoi kore."
Rohan's eyes welled up. He thought how people were. When they are alive, people don't care. But, now, when they were in the verge of death, or maybe fighting for life, everyone understood their worth. How selfish people were! Rohan put the though away and said,
"Xoruk koi ahisu. Xi ase de mar logot."
"Hm hm, thike ase de."
Arohan paused for a moment. He again continued,
"Heri, Aditi aji oha kotha asil nohoi. Taik phone kori asilu. Switch off dekhai ase. Toi ebar khobor lobi sun. Snehao phone dhora nai mor."
Something choked in Rohan's throat. He swallowed hard and said,
