Downpour is one of the characters in Autanida story. She is of an ethnicity mostly made up of mixed seawings and skywings, with smaller percentage of icewings and sandwings. Determining her biological tribe would be probably impossible, but she has most traits of a hybrid between the first two. She can breathe underwater, does not breathe fire and has only few flashscales. She is an architect and an author of some books with simple but good stories. Her artistic work was one of the factors that inspired Autan in his youth. She is an adult when hes a child and lives at the very beginning of the storyline, experiencing the first wave of rising genocide and war. At this time she lives in one of the villages of her dragons ethnic group (i still havent decided their canon name, so im either gonna call them eastwings or that), alone. She had a male partner for some time, but they did not stay together and now shes expecting an egg. She is also heterosexual and aromantic. She is an introvert, mostly quiet and separated from interactions. She is nice and may start the conversation, but over all she prefers to just be left with herself with a peaceful understanding. She owns a pet bear, which she releases to the wild when she is forced to leave her home.

When the war finally comes, she considers asking to be allowed to stay, but decides not to take this risk and flees. The skywing kingdoms goal is to get rid of eastwings from their perceived territory, so the dragons who decide to run away are not being attacked and are more or less allowed to just leave. She takes her most personal belonging and travels with others to the coast, to then head to the seawing kingdoms lands. The atmosphere is full of distress and nervous terror. The army does not initiate a massacre at this moment, but people are still being killed and those who survived are being thrown away from homes overnight. When she reaches the shore, she then travels with thousands of other refugees to the islands in a hard and tiring time. She lays an egg mid travel and is happy to notice it looks mostly like a skywing egg (which means it can stay in difficult conditions for a long time due to its resilient and does not need to be placed in any specific environment) (although skywings do not consider eggs without a visible signs of life to be anything of real value and often just destroy unwanted eggs or leave them whenever, eastwings have more personal approach)(even tho the father looked mostly like a seawing and the kind turned out to be the same). While resting with other travelers on a rocky island, she notices a dragonet trying to scare gulls away from his fish. She recognizes him as a son of dragons she knows, but there are no parents in sight and the kid is unable to tell what happened to them and says he was just traveling alongside the group. She takes care of him and later adopts him.When they reach the seawings land, things are not much better. The seawings are very unhappy with a large group of refugees and have very strict, isolationist politic even amongst heir own subgroups. Newcomers are not allowed in the city after dark and are frequently attacked, be it from thieves, gangs formed by a traveling groups belonging to a different ethnicity that are ostracized from the main society and often have to resort to unjust means (their name is Podmorscy, but im not sure how to translate it yet), city residents or guards. Over time, they form they own community and, even while dealing with a lot of issues and poor conditions, are able to survive. Downpour lives to old age and dies on the seawing land. Later, one of her two sons (one adopted), while also being old, is able to return to his homeland, after the monarchy is abolished and situation is vastly changed. Downpours life begins the story and her sons return shows the end of it. The whole story is complex and happens far away from these characters, but they are an essential part of it. Abolishing monarchy and changing the system takes several decades and two revolutions, happens in three stages. I havent yet decided how exactly long itll take and im not sure i will specify that. Her sons names are Fishhook and Fishbone.
