Since he was a young child, Gray Yeon's life revolved solely around his studies. At first, like any other child his age, he only started studying because he was required to do so for school, but eventually, he grew to enjoy it. He loved learning new things across a wide range of topics.

His classmates didn't share the same sentiment as him. They would rather play games, go outside and play sports, watch television, or read comics, which were typical interests of children their age. As a result, Gray became distant from his friends, but he didn't really mind it too much. In fact, he actually quite enjoyed the solitude; because he was left to his own devices, nobody would bother or interrupt his studying time.

As the years passed, Gray grew older and remained friendless. In middle school, he noticed a void in his chest, and he seek to fill that void by continuing to bury himself in his studies. It resulted in the void growing bigger and more noticeable.

Gray knew that bullying existed. He was often a bystander to these sorts of events in his own classroom. Surprisingly, Gray was never directly involved, and he was never bullied for being a nerd or for being a loner. To them, Gray seemed to blend into the background like an afterthought.

The void in Gray's chest filled when he met Stephen Ahn.

His view of the world became cracked after Bryce betrayed them, and Stephen fell from the roof and became comatose.

Gray's world was now dark. Stephen, the light in his world, was gone.

Gray was tired of being a bystander. He got his revenge and beat up Oswald Yang and Bryce Oh. He did not care if Oswald's father was a person with great power; Gray had wanted revenge and he got it.
