Donald Na was not stupid. He knew how drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes while underage negatively affected the teenage body. He, like many other members of the Union, still decided to drink and smoke anyway.

He knew that smoking too often would eventually lead to shortness of breath. That would be great trouble to him in a fight. He limited the amount of cigarettes he smoked.

He had been very hesitant to try alcohol. The memories associated with it were unpleasant. He remembered how his stepfather had been an alcoholic and always drank away their money, and blamed Donald and his mother for the reason they had no money.

Donald thought of alcohol as a sign of power and wealth. Rich upper class people were often depicted as oftentimes have a large collection of expensive alcohols in their homes. While Donald had no intention of ever owning a wine cellar, he did purchase a few expensive bottles of alcohol.

He indulged himself in the poisons, but never enough to let the poisons destroy his life.
