[4] The Daughter of Nurse Joy: Hoenn Adventure

Mossdeep Gym

The word about Team Aqua and Magma finally being defeated spread across the Hoenn region like wildfire. People were relieved that the two teams were finally arrested, especially those who had trouble with them before. Archie, Shelly, Maxie and Harlan were condemned to stay in prison for forty years and the grunts were for twenty years. So now the Hoenn region was safe again.

By now Cora and the gang were now at Mossdeep City, thanks to Lance giving them a lift and Cora was ready to face the gym leader of Mossdeep Gym. Mossdeep City was famous for its space center and the launch of the space rockets. Cora knew that the Mossdeep Gym had two gym leaders; twin brother and sister named Liza and Tate. She also knew that Tate used a Solrock and Liza used a Lunatone. As Solrock and Lunatone were both Rock and Psychic type, Cora decided to use Kilala (shiny/unique Espeon) and Lela (Mightyena) as Kilala was a Psychic type and Lela Dark type Pokémon and of course Psychic moves don't affect Dark types. Also, Cora had asked her aunt from the Pokémon Center for a Dawn Stone for Lancelot (Kirlia) to evolve. After Lancelot touched the stone, he evolved into Gallade. He was very happy in his new form.

The Mossdeep Gum building was shaped like a space dome and the battlefield was something Cora had never seen before; the battlefield was three-dimensional, and it had planet-like objects floating in the air. It was like the moon with planets flying around it. The gang thought this was very clever. The gym leaders Tate and Liza were twins all right; despite being a boy and girl they actually looked the same as well as dressed the same. The referee was their mother, Rachel. Rachel explained that the battle would be a double and the opponent who knocks out the other opponent's two Pokémon first wins.

"Let the battle begin!" Rachel announced.

"Kilala, Lela, let's go!" Cora sent out her Shiny/Unique Sun Pokémon and Bite Pokémon.

"Espeon!" Kilala jumped onto the field.

Lela growled as she appeared next to Kilala.

"Solrock, come on out!" Tate released his Sun Shaped Meteorite Pokémon.

"Lunatone, let's do it!" Liza released her Crescent Moon Meteorite Pokémon.

Solrock and Lunatone appeared on the field.

"Solrock, Tackle on Espeon!" Solrock rushed towards Kilala.

"Lunatone, Tackle on Mightyena!" Lunatone rushed towards Lela.

"Dodge!" Kilala and Lela dodged Solrock and Lunatone's attack.

"Kilala, hit Solrock with Energy Ball! Lela, use Crunch on Lunatone!" Kilala fired an Energy Ball at Solrock and Lela jumped towards Lunatone to bite down on it. But Solrock and Lunatone had a clever trick; they were floating near some of the planet objects, so when the Pokémon dodged, Kilala's Energy Ball just hit one of the planets and Lela just bit down on another planet.

"Those two are good." Cora admitted.

"Lunatone, use Ice Beam!" Liza ordered.

"Solrock, Solar Beam!" Tate ordered.

Cora was about to order Kilala and Lela to use Protect to escape the attacks, but they didn't need to do anything. The Ice Beam and Solar Beam attacks ended up colliding with each other, leaving Kilala and Lela unharmed.

"Hey you messed up my Solar Beam attack!" Tate shouted at Liza, "my Solrock was in perfect precision, but you interfered with it!"

"Oh please!" Liza argued back, "You were too slow!"
