Chapter 18

Jeongin woke up unusually early in the morning.

It took him a few minutes to recall the memories from last night.

He had remembered accepting Minho's offer of sleeping together because he was scared to sleep on his own.

Usually, when he sleeps with Seungmin with a sense of protection, he still gets nightmares.

But, one good thing about having someone like Seungmin is that he never gets irritated.

Whenever he had nightmares, he had always woken Seungmin who had had always comforted him and made sure Jeongin fell back asleep peacefully.

Jeongin was surprised he didn't have to deal with any of the nightmare issues when he slept with Minho.

He had slept peacefully despite the early awakening.

Something about sleeping in Minho's arms made Jeongin flustered.

Especially with Minho right in front of him. Jeongin couldn't lie, despite being in need of an attitude adjustment and having control over his temper, Minho was a really handsome man. He cared about people around him and had never mistreated Jeongin in any way.

Minho was a good man. Well,in his own way.

He had always fulfilled his responsibilities and even kept people from hurting Jeongin.

Jeongin stared at Minho in front of him who was asleep, his raven locks falling neatly on his forehead.

Jeongin kept staring at the older, admiring his every facial feature and bone structure that were definitely strong despite their delicate look.

Despite having the urge to resist, one of Jeongin's fingers was on Minho's bottom lip, feeling the surface underneath that felt like cherry.

Jeongin's heart almost jumped out of his chest once Minho's eyes flew open. He quickly retraced his finger expecting a disgusted reaction but Minho didn't seem disgusted at all. He seemed completely calm and didn't seem to mind what Jeongin was doing earlier.

"Good morning." Minho said, breaking the awkward silence between them.

"Good morning." Jeongin mumbled shyly.

"Well," Minho said as he sat up, " We better get you to your Seungmin hyung before he comes looking for you."

Jeongin could easily point out the irritation in Minho's tone and he had a hard time figuring out why.

"You slept together?"

"Yeah, but not in the weird way you're thinking."

"It's okay. You don't need to give me details. You two do deserve privacy." Seungmin smirked at Jeongin who was sitting beside him on the couch in the PC room.

"Aish, you weird hyung!"

"Anyway, the more important question that I have been trying to ask. Do you like Minho?"

The question definitely got Jeongin thinking. But no clear answer came to his mind.

"I'm not sure. Maybe?"

"So, that's a yes?"

"Maybe."

"He's a good man." Seungmin said. "He has everything you need in a man."

"Since when did you become a philosopher,huh?" Jeongin asked.

"Since now, but my point still stands. If you want I can be your philosopher. I'll teach every single thing about your man, Lee Minho."

"He's not my man."

"Yet!"

"My point still stands." Jeongin said mimicking Seungmin.

"Aish, brat! I'm trying to help you get a future with a gorgeous man, and you're mocking me? I'm offended." Seungmin frowned.

Jeongin just laughed at the corny expression he made afterwards.

"So, anyway, hyung?"

"Yeah?"

"So, why is Minho hyung the way he is? Dark and mysterious. I mean, I know you became a spy because you inherited from your family like the others did. But, you never told me anything about Minho hyung. Was he inherited as a spy too?"

Seungmin thought for a second, deciding if he should answer the question. Which he did.

"Well you see, Minho hyung hasn't had the nicest past. Do you know Yang Haneul?"

Jeongin breath hitched but he nodded, not having the audacity to lie. "He's the CEO of the Yang industry, right?"

"Yeah, but I'm sure you don't know he's been up to shady business. He owns an underground Mafia company. You probably don't know that."

Jeongin shook his head. "No."

"Well, you see when Minho was 13, he lost his parents. Mrs Lee had lung cancer and the cost of the diagnosis and treatment was really high. Since Minho's father loved his wife so much, he borrowed a lot of money from Yang Haneul for her treatment. The surgery was successful and Mrs Lee was healthy again. But Mr Lee didn't have enough to pay Haneul back so on Minho's 13th birthday, he came to their house and murdered his parents. I don't know how Minho escaped but Chan was the one who found him on the streets. He took Minho home with him and the others helped him get over the trauma. So, later we gave him all the basic spy training to the advanced one. Minho hates Yang Haneul more than anything. He would literally do anything to get revenge."

The story was sad, yes. Imagine having to live 11 years without your parents who love you. Not to mention Minho still has a long life left to live.

Not only did Jeongin feel bad but he felt guilty that it was his father who caused Minho's misery.

But on digging in further, now that Jeongin knew about Minho's hatred towards his father, Jeongin was a bit scared what Minho might do if he found out Jeongin was Haneul's son.

Something's were better left unspoken.

"Cheer up, sweetheart." Seungmin said noticing Jeongin's sad expression. "Nothing about it is your fault."

Jeongin just nodded.

"How about we do something to get your mind off Minho's past?"

"Like what?" Jeongin said.

"Get ready, sweetie. We're going out."

This story will definitely get a happy ending because who likes sad endings?

But what's a story without drama?
