One more bite of anything edible and you knew that you'll burst.
The food was delicious. You were very full and very grateful to have some food. You set your fork down and smiled.
"Boy, was that good. Thank you so much for that, Delbert." Delbert adjusted his spectacles as he replied,
"Oh, no problem." He cherished the smell of his lunch before taking another spoonful of it and ate it. That was the last bit of his lunch.
Sarah walked towards your table and picked up the empty plates and glasses. There was a counter by your table and Sarah placed them there. After doing so, she grabbed the nearest empty chair and dragged over to your table and sat down.
"So, what's this thing you wanted to talk to me about, Delbert?" Sarah asked, smiling.
"Oh, right." Delbert cleared his throat, "(Y/N) here has a fascinating and- quite short story. She woke up in an alley with no memory of her existence." Delbert explained. Sarah turned to you with a confused look.
"Oh dear." Sarah muttered. You awkwardly fiddled with your fingers.
"In an alley?" Sarah rephrased what Delbert had said. Delbert nodded. You scrunched your nose at the thought of waking up in that disgusting alley.
"And I- We were hoping that you would take her as an assistant; you know, the chores and everything. Would it be also be okay if she stayed here-" Delbert was immediately interrupted by Sarah,
"Of course! I'll even pay her if I could." Sarah exclaimed.
"Thank you!" You blurted out.
For the rest of the afternoon, customers come in and out of the inn for a snack or maybe even late lunch or very early dinner. Delbert had to leave before another storm would cook up. Sarah taught you everything you needed to know. You admitted to yourself that you were a fast learner- considering the fact that you learned to cook five, different recipes in just two hours.

An hour before sundown, Delbert came back for some supper. He had the same food he had for lunch- probably his favorite meal. You and Sarah ate minutes earlier whe when there were no customers.
Delbert was just in time to be greeted with a curious frog-human hybrid kid once his meal was delivered. The curious little girl was able to snatch a bite of his food, which disgusted Delbert. Delbert gently placed his spoon on the table, still disgusted from his encounter. Sarah walked over to the counter with lots of dishes. You were delivering a drink to some people.
"So, Sarah, how's Jim doing?" You overheard Delbert say, 'Who is Jim?', you thought to yourself. You walked closer to them to listen,
"Much better. I know he's had a few rough spots this year, but I really think he's starting to turn a corner." Sarah replied as she was about to place dishes on a counter.
The door suddenly opened, revealing two Robo-Cops and a boy.
"Mrs. Hawkins?" One of them spoke. Sarah gasped,
"Jim!" Sarah then dropped her dishes on the floor.
'That's Jim?' You thought. Delbert widened his eyes and tilted his head to your direction,
"Oooh... Wrong turn." He muttered as he covered the side of his face with his hand.
The boy was a slender, handsome teen, with brown hair both parted at his forehead and tied to a brief rattail. He had thick brown eyebrows, blue eyes, fairly tanned skin, and he wore a golden earing on his left ear. He wore a black jacket, ochre V-neck shirt, gray pants and tan belt, and black bucket-top boots.
