It's been a month since I've been working for Zen Pharma, and it's been great. Data entry was a breeze, and Mr. Zen is a dream boss.

He doesn't micromanage or make impossible demands. He is awesome.

I was on my daily walk from the trolley to my job. The employees parked in a huge parking garage that was ten minutes away, then rode a trolley to the building.

This kept the streets clear of traffic jams. It made it safer for all the other businesses' customers and tourists to shop or walk around sightseeing.

I walked into the building, ready to start my day. After an hour in, Rin made his presence known. Despite his mean nature, he was very attractive and smelled really good.

"You're late."

"Excuse me?"

"Check your email."

He walked away, not saying anything else. I opened my inbox and saw that indeed there was an invite sent to me by Mr. Zen for a 9:00 am meeting...it was 9:13 am.

"Oh shit..."

I hurried to the elevator with my notepad. Once I got to the ninth floor, the doors opened.

"Ah!"

Rin was standing right in front of me.

"Sheesh, Rin....You scared me."

My short legs followed his long strides into Mr. Zen's suite...The clock said 9:17 am. Now, my armpits were sweating.

"Good morning, Violet."

Whew, he said my first name....he's in a good mood.

"Good morning. I apologize for my lateness."

"No worries, I was on a call anyway."

Rin stood to the side where I could see him. He kept his focus straight ahead, avoiding eye contact with me.

"How do you like the department you are in?"

"It's great...very busy."

"Good. Well, I know it's only been a month but I want to change your job duties."

My heart raced, but I tried to stay calm.

"I'm getting older and need help with different administrative tasks. I will need my phone calls monitored, my daily schedule maintained, my lunch provided on time, and other errands I need completed...Are you up for the task?"

My eyes brightened. "Yes Sir, I am."

For a few seconds, I could feel eyes other than Mr. Zen's on me.

"Good, I was hoping you'd say yes. Starting tomorrow, you are officially my personal assistant. Congrats on your promotion."

"Thank you again for the opportunity."

I stood and shook my boss' hand. By the look on Rin's face, he was not pleased with my new job title.

"Hebi, Ms. Edwards needs access to my suite and a work phone for direct contact. Also, make sure important contacts are informed of the new hire and will need to communicate through her from here on out."

"Yes boss."

Rin looked at me, and I stood up, but Mr. Zen stopped me from leaving.

"No rush, you are relieved of your Data Entry duties. Do you have any questions for me?"

I sat back down. "Will there be certain contacts that should be placed as a priority?"

He smiled. "Yes..."
