TIME

I was seeing red as I sped down the highway. I fucking saw him...Tymin. He was cocky enough to take Violet himself instead of sending his demons.

I'm offended at his boldness and disregard of Doku Clan's authority. There was a treaty in place even before I joined, and it was reintroduced when we won our battle.

Seeing his face made me think of when I killed his father. It was so satisfying, and I'm sure ripping his head off won't be any different.

I had two locations for Tymin. Luckily, the first place was it...I could smell Violet's scent. But then I realized my baby's connection to me was fading.

What is he doing to her?

I closed my eyes, feeling my body shift with ease. I climbed up the balcony on the side and unlatched the sliding doors. It was dark, but my eyes gave me night vision.

Violet's scent was faint but detectable. It led me all the way to the second level towards the master bedroom.

Soon, I could hear a soft heartbeat, and I kicked open the door. Both her arms were tied up while she was unconscious.

Stains of blood covered her shirt, and my anger grew more.

Doku Clan, I'm sending out a code red. The treaty has been broken... please prepare for execution.

I mentally put out a chant to my tribe. All soldiers will be present no matter the time or location. I shifted back into my human form just in case she woke up.

After I untied Violet, I checked her pulse again. She was alive but still wouldn't wake up. I looked at her neck wound and noticed he bit her multiple times.

"Son of a bitch."

If I didn't know any better I would think he was trying to kill her. I took her out of the bed and carried her down the stairs. It was completely dark with only the moonlight shining through the windows.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Tymin's voice made my skin crawl. He was smug and reek of entitlement.

"Long time no see, Hebi."

I remained silent, mentally picking which body part I would rip off his body first.

"I see we're attached to the same woman. We're more alike than you think."

"Bullshit."

"It was unsmart of you, putting your seed in her. It just confirms she'll be able to carry my children."

"You're among the unliving...you couldn't get her pregnant if you tried."

"Wrong...my father was a full blooded Vamp. But my mother was human."

My teeth began to grind at the revelation. The thought of him touching her sent a rage through me.

"And where is your mother?"

"In the afterlife. She died giving birth to me."

"You must miss her alot."

He sighed. "I do as you miss your mother."

"I still see my mother but I'll send you to see yours too."

With no more words, I went on full attack.

I awoke to glass shattering and furniture breaking all around me. My body wouldn't move until I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.

I got up feeling weak, trying to get my balance and vision together. Then I noticed it was Rin fighting Tymin. They were going swing for swing and punch for punch. But I could tell who the real fighter was.

For my safety, I moved away from the chaos and was still able to see. I jumped and cringed at every fist thrown or landed.

Men fighting were brutal to watch. I had no clue how to stop it, but I also knew Rin was helping me.

Soon, I heard an explosion with bright lights. I ducked behind the dining room table. Figures dressed in all black came in deep while dark entities rose from the floor.

"Oh my God."

There were demons everywhere while I tried to stay hidden. It was so much going on, and my eyes didn't know what to focus on.

"Violet, let's go."

I look to see Daichi standing in front of me. He put out his hand while my eyes searched for Rin.

"He will be fine. I need to get you to safety."

The only other person who popped into my mind was my baby. I took Daichi's hand and held on tight. Another explosive went off, and I screamed as we took off running.

I got into a black SUV, and we sped off from the huge mansion. The further from that place we went, the better I felt.

But I couldn't help but worry about Rin. My eyes filled up with tears. I can't lose him...our baby needs him, I need him.

"Everything is going to be fine."

Daichi said while speeding onto the highway. Instead of taking me home, he took me to a place I've never seen before.

"Where are we?"

"Hello, Violet."

Emi stood on the wide steps to greet me. I was hesitant but followed her inside.

"You will be safe here until Rin returns."

I gave Daichi a nod, then took a seat in the living room. On the walls and fireplace, I saw pictures of Mr. Zen and my heart eased.

"My father is here, but he is resting."

She looked like she wanted to tell me something, but I didn't want to ask nor hear what it was. I had a feeling it would be about Rin.

"I can show you to the guest room so you can freshen up and get comfortable."

The guest room was very nice with an on suite bathroom all to myself. I showered and cried thinking about Rin. Prayers for his safety kept repeating in my thoughts while I put the nightgown on that was left for me to wear.

I heard a knock on the door and opened it. Emi stood with a tray of food.

"I thought you may be hungry."

"Thanks." I let her in.

I sat on the bed and listened to her talk about her mother and all the memories she had growing up in the same home. It was beautiful to hear.

"Violet, how long have you and Rin been sleeping together?"

My eyes widened in surprise. But then I remembered Rin announced to Mr. Zen that I was pregnant.

"Not that long."

"Is it true that you are pregnant?"

"Yes."

"Is it his?"

"Yes."

She took a deep breath in frustration. I didn't know what to expect from her at this point.

"Even after you knew me and Rin were together, you slept with him again..." She looked at me with teary eyes.

"By then, I was already pregnant. Aren't you engaged?"

She wiped her tears. "Not anymore."

I closed my eyes, knowing this was going to be an uphill battle getting her to move on.

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"Don't be...it never would've worked between us."

"Why?"

She stood up with a smirk on her face.

"Because I'm carrying Rin's child also."
