KALEEM SHAH'S POV:
"So, what was it that you wanted to tell me earlier?" I question her practically dying out of curiosity.
"Well first of all, I should've told you this when you first arrived at our home. Izhaan bhai was at The Cosy Cafe the other day and I had a small interaction with him but I didn't know at the time that it was him kyunke meh bhool gahi thi aur uss waqt meh bohut late thi lecture ki liya to mera dayaan uspe nahi tha." She says feeling bad she didn't tell me before.
( because i forgot and at that time i was very late for the lecture so my focus wasn't on him)
"That's nice to know that my brother is out and about again. I will have to arrange a meet up soon with me and him and perhaps another time with you as well to catch up." I tell her.
Izhaan is a very sensitive topic for the both of us, he is my younger brother but he is one year older than Mahi (23 years old) which is why she addresses him with bhai.
He had depression and he has fully come out of it now thankfully but it's still taking him time to come out of his shell but I'm glad he's not being dependent on someone so he knows now his capability but nevertheless I would still like to meet him and check up on him.
"Mahi, is there something else bothering you?" I ask her genuinely as I feel there's something on her mind.
"Umm basically, I know you're gonna react really bad to this or maybe upset or even protective or possessive but it's to do with the event happening at school. We have to go with someone to the event and if not, they pair us with random people. So..." She takes a massive gap before I nod at her, giving her the approval to continue talking, " This boy called Khalid asked me to go with him, but lately he's been acting like a jerk so I don't wanna go with him." She says whilst lookimg very uninterested from the mention of that jerk.
Hey, I've never met this guy before and I'm calling him a jerk not because of the fact that he sounds like one but because Mahi said he's one.
And I trust Mahi more than I trust myself.
I can't lie but her having absolutely no interest in him caused there to be a small smirk plastered across my face.
Could I be starting to...
No... yeah no way.
Wait... it makes sense.
I almost told her "I love you" and she just is perfect, I need her to know that she's mine and mine only.
"He's been mean to this new boy who sits next to me and he also kinda asked me out and I think he's really nice. So, I'm thinking about going with him, what do you think? Oh also, his name's Kareem." She says to me very nervously.
I'll admit, it took me a few minutes to process what she had just said but one thing was clear...
I am not happy about this at all.
I mean how can she even think about going with this boy?
Like c'mon...
I'm a man.
She even mentioned how she doesn't like the fact that the jerk is being mean to him.
Why can't the other guy be a jerk to her?
That way I'd have the perfect excuse to punch him breaking his jaw and then make him bleed for days so he can suffer in pain.
Oh how I would love to put my hand forcefully on his head and throw him to the ground and keep bashing him till he's bruised all over and blood pouring out from who knows where.
Wait.
Kareem?!
No chance.
I clench my jaw and both of my fists and tell her whilst gritting my teeth, "No, you are not going with him. If anyone you're going with it's me and that's final."
"Oh okay. That's fine!" She responds very enthusiastically.
Okayyy...
Not what I expected but I do like her answer.
————————————————————————
Hey readers, this is a really short chapter but I feel like it's pacing the story well so the next one will be longer to make up for it.And I'm not sure if the part where Kaleem is mentioning the things he wants to do with Kareem is a lot but I think it makes sense.
Don't forget to vote.
and thank you <3
