Chapter 14: Interrogation Begins

I quickly grab my phone and mute the call.

Kaleem raises his eyebrows at me suspiciously.

"Maheen, tell me now," He says taking a small break between each word whilst gritting his teeth, "Who was calling you?"

Hai usne abhi hi phone karna tha! Badme kyu nahi kar sakhta tha. Vesa itneh din keh baad usko meri yaad kahan seh ay?

(Omg he really had to phone now! Why couldn't he have done it later. Anyways, how has he randomly remembered me after so many days?)

"Uh..woh choro tum abhi bhi mera kamra meh kyun ho?" I question him completely airing his question.

(Forget that, why are you still in my room?)

"TUM? SERIOUSLY!" He shouts at me in a joking way.

(YOU-informal-!)

"Haan toh? Hum dosts toh heh toh phir itni formality kyun?" I say with a bit of attitude.

(Yeah so? We are friends, so why this much formality?)

"Wow... meh apke ke kamre seh chala jaunga leiken ek cheez ke baad." He says with a cunning grin on his face.

(I'll go from your room but after one thing.)

"Which is..?" I question him raising my eyebrow.

He takes a deep breath and asks, "What are you hiding from me?"

I nervously laugh as I say, "Hide? Why would I do that?"

"Maheen. Be serious." He says looking away from me.

Things started to seem more serious. The mood in the room had changed drastically, I don't know what to do.

Part of me wants to tell him who he is but part of me says that he might mind it.

I look down contemplating on what to do and then i feel the bed getting lighter.

I look up to see him leaving.

"Kaleem.." I say hoping to grab his attention.

But my efforts were vain.

Not like this.

I ran to my door and locked it so he couldn't leave.

I really shouldn't hide this from him.

But I haven't done any wrong either by not telling him.

"Kaleem... agar meh kaboon keh meh tumeh uske baare mein bataungi badme toh teekh hai." I ask for his permission.

(If I tell you that I will tell you about him later, is it okay?)

"Hmm." He responds.

"Yes or no?" I say

"Yes." He says with a smile bringing back my smile.

We stood by more door deeply staring into each other's eyes locking in our destinies.

I really like him but would still like to know him more, it hasn't been that long since he's came back.

KALEEM'S SHAH POV:

Maheen was hiding something from me but a burden fell off my shoulders when she said that she will tell me about it.

Even if it's later, I don't care as long as she never hides stuff from me.

I move closer seeing her facial expression confused.
