Graham: The next morning Billy had decided to tell the rest of the band that he was quitting... some of us took it better than others.
Eddie: Billy always thought he was top shit, didn't think of anyone but himself.
Sunny:m "Who the fuck to you think you are man?"[mimicking Eddie's voice]
Graham: I tried to get everyone to stay calm, but Eddie wouldn't have it.
Karen: Eddie was kind of thinking what the rest of was were, but he was the only one with the balls to say it.
Sunny: I stayed silent the whole time and stood just a step behind Billy, acting as the support system I knew he needed. It was a tough decision and the band wasn't going to take it lightly, so Billy needed all the help he could get.
Billy: I told them that they didn't need me, and that they had the songs and the fan base to work with. From my perspective, they had everything the needed right in the palms of their hands.
Sunny: From the way Billy was talking, I could just tell he was struggling with this decision. His lip quivered with every word he spoke and his hands wouldn't stop shaking. I mean, as much as it made me upset that he was quitting, I could see the toll it was taking on his health.
Eddie: Billy was trying to make excuses to why he was leaving, and at some point I just snapped and told him , "Billy! If you're going, go."
And he just left...it was that easy.
Warren: I didn't know what we were going to do next.
Karen: I mean...bands fall apart, you know? That's rock 'n roll. I just... thought this one was different [shrugs].
Sunny: Billy started doing anything to keep him moving and away from drinking. There were days where I'd come home to find the ripped screens on all the windows fixed, or even a new light switch installed. He was even getting into this health kick, where he'd force me on runs with him around the neighbourhood and when we came home he'd chug down a glass of raw eggs [cringes]. I almost threw up when he made me try one.
