Chapter 9

Hello!

This is a short-ish chapter, just an introduction to a build-up. Hehe.

Anyway, I would like to say that we would not be documenting each and every time Jimin gets punished by Yoongi. Just know that ever since they've gotten married he's been punished several times already due to his penchant for back-talk and his constant tardiness. Lol. I feel like I need to point that out and I don't know why... hehe...

Anyhoooo... I hope you enjoy this chapter. The next one will be out shortly. I am in the process of writing Chapter 13 and 14 but it's still all over the place. I'm not sure I like how it's turning out. Hopefully I finish it soon so that I can keep up with my 2-3 updates a week schedule.

Chapter 9

"Are we sure everything is ready? Is their designated room clean and stocked with their usual products? How about Jeong? Is the food cooked already? Is he sure that what he prepared are absolutely their favorite meal? Did Lee already update you of their arrival time? Are they nearing the mansion already?", Jimin fretted around the Min Mansion as they waited for the arrival of his in-laws, panicking by the minute. This is the first time since their wedding that he'll meet them again in person. When Yoongi informed him of his parents' upcoming regular visit, the omega went into overdrive and started preparing weeks before, the alpha's warning on their wedding day ringing at the back of his mind.

Jimin has no idea what his in-laws are like, so he does not know what to expect. He's asked his husband a couple of times, but Yoongi is an unreliable source when it came to his parents because he obviously has put them on a pedestal. But he does remember them being polite when they were talking to his parents on their wedding day, and his mother-in-law seemed really nice. At one point, Jimin even questioned how such a cheerful omega could have birthed a demon like Yoongi. (Well, now that he's gotten to know his husband better, he can admit that the alpha is not a demon. Or maybe just a low-level demon and not a high-ranking one. And he only thinks that now whenever he's getting spanked by Yoongi).

"Everything is ready, Master Min. You have nothing to worry about. We usually receive the Master's parents whenever they are here in Seoul for their regular medical check-ups. We're used to their presence, and by now, we are well versed when it comes to their quirks and preferences. It will be fine.", Cho assured the omega as she followed and observed him nit-picking at every detail in the mansion. Everyone is suddenly on edge because of Jimin. They don't understand because their Master's parents are quite nice and mostly keep to themselves, preferring to stay in their room or relax by the garden, staying out of everyone's way.

"I'm sorry. Alpha promised to beat my ass really good if his parents complained about me even in the slightest bit. I just don't want that to happen while they're here!", Jimin blurted out, making Cho stop in her tracks. The omega groaned when he realized what he just said. To be fair, Yoongi did not mention any rule against him talking to the staff (or anyone for that matter) about his rules and punishments. The alpha does not even hinder him from interacting and getting close with the staff. As long as everyone's job is being done properly, then they can do whatever they want in their pastime.

"Please don't tell my alpha I told you that.", Jimin whispered, wide eyes staring at the head maid who smiled at him in sympathy.

"I won't. If I may voice out my opinion, I honestly don't think you're capable of offending the Master's parents. And from what I've observed ever since I've started working for him, the Master is just. You don't have to be anxious, Master Min. I'll personally make sure that everything is in place and that Alpha Min and Omega Min will be satisfied during their stay with us.", Cho assured Jimin, making the omega relax just a little bit.

"Thank you, Cho.", Jimin smiled gratefully at the maid. "Uhm, how long have you been working here again? You're very good at what you do. You make my life so much easier."

The head maid laughed as they now walk towards the kitchen to inspect the meal Jeong has prepared. Jimin instructed the chef to make sure he prepared everything according to the couple's preferences (Jeong may or may not have been offended considering he's been cooking for the Min family for years). Jimin even asked Yoongi to list down all of his parents' favorite food. The alpha looked at him funny but thankfully complied and did not ask further questions. The omega personally did all the groceries, even asking for his mother's help, to make sure they didn't miss anything. Whatever happens, he has to make sure that everything is perfect.

"Close to ten years. I'm one of the first staff Master Min hired.", Cho answered proudly.

"Oh, around the time he started becoming rich?", Jimin inquired.

"Yes. At that time, he has just purchased the house and lot where the staff are staying now. It was a modest two-story house, with 4 bedrooms in total. It was just me, Hajoon, and one other maid. As his business grew, he purchased the adjacent lots and slowly built this beautiful mansion. He used to talk about wanting to have a big family, which is why he wanted a house with several rooms and more space for expansion. He also wanted his parents to move here in Seoul and stay with him permanently, but they preferred to stay in Daegu and manage their own farm. They really love it there.", Cho explained.

"Really? He told you all of that?", Jimin inquired, trying his best to mask the hurt in his voice.

"Yes. When he was younger, Master Min used to have drinks with Hajoon and I while inviting the rest of the staff for some snacks while we reported to him the current status of the household. He can be quite talkative once with alcohol in his system and has shared a lot of his aspirations with us. That used to be a weekly event. As you can imagine, once his business grew, along with this property and the number of staff, he became really busy and those drinking sessions were now replaced with a more formal but brief monthly household meetings.", the head maid rambled on as they now approach the kitchen.

As Jimin listened to Cho, he could not help but feel a pang of jealousy upon realizing that the head maid had known his husband and his husband's parents longer and knew them better than him. Although he and Yoongi have been getting closer, the alpha sharing bits and pieces from his past during conversations, Jimin feels like his husband is still holding back and refuses to let him in. And he couldn't understand why. Whatever happened in Yoongi's past that made him close off, Jimin wanted to know but could never have the courage to ask, thinking the alpha would open up to him when he's ready. Unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet.

Yoongi doesn't even initiate any forms of touching. Jimin still has to ask if they can cuddle after a punishment; and Yoongi always carries him back to his room once he falls asleep. The omega also finds it weird that Yoongi haven't asked him to be intimate yet, considering it is his right as Jimin's husband and alpha. Jimin's grateful that Yoongi respected him during the early days of their marriage, but after several months, he's now getting antsy. He's not going to lie; his husband is a very attractive man. And he knows him well enough and is comfortable around him at this point that he wouldn't mind if they now consummate their marriage (but no pups yet!). However, it looks like the alpha has no plans in doing that, and it's making him feel insecure. He now regrets hoping to never get matched before considering that this marriage seems like his karma for even thinking he's better off without an Alpha...

As it appears to be, Jimin is going to be stuck in a loveless and sexless marriage, which, in his opinion, is no different from being a single omega.

For today's book recommendation, it's another one that I've read so many times already, but I still go back from time to time to read my favorite parts.
