Hi!

Welcome to the next chapter!

Before we proceed, I just want to say that I made some minor edits to Chapter 18. Just revised some awkward sentences. Hehe. There's no major change or anything.

Anyhoo...

Here is the continuation of that chapter. I hope you like this one.

Chapter 19

"It's because I don't want to have children and my alpha is sterile.", Seokjin casually revealed like he didn't just drop a major bomb.

"Uhm, omega, I don't think that is something you're allowed to share. Your alpha would probably disapprove.", Jihyo carefully said but the omega just shrugged.

"It's okay, alpha. It's not a secret, my alpha doesn't mind. He actually thinks it's better for everyone to know that much so that it saves us from all the 'When are you going to produce heirs?' questions from everyone. It's really annoying, like that's any of their business.", the oldest omega answered, rolling his eyes.

"Wow, hyung, you've never told me that. How exactly did that happen?", Jimin asked.

"Which part? The matching or the I don't want children or his sterility part?", Seokjin teased, grinning.

"Everything! I want to know right now before we leave, oppa!", Jisoo exclaimed, leaning excitedly towards Seokjin. Thankfully, Seokjin is willing to indulge her.

"Well, I am the eldest of 4 children and the only omega. My parents owned a small bakery in our town. We weren't exactly poor but with 6 persons in the household we needed to stretch the money a bit. My parents both had to work to keep the business afloat so I was left to take care of my siblings. They think because I'm an omega, then parenting should come naturally to me but I hated every second of it. I love my brothers but they're a handful, I was always so exhausted and had no time for myself.", the oldest omega began his story.

"When I graduated from high school, they decided I didn't need to attend college anymore just because I'm an omega. They wanted to save their money for my alpha siblings' education. I felt that was so unfair. I'm their son too regardless of my sub-gender; they should also invest in me and fund my college education. I begged them to let me go. I even started applying for scholarships but they said no, that it wasn't worth it especially since I'll probably just be a house omega anyway. And so, I spent my days waiting for my matching letter while working in our bakery. By that time, I already knew that I didn't want any children. I don't want to give birth to an alpha child who thinks the world revolves around them because their sub-gender is the only one that matters and to an omega child who'll only get mistreated by alphas. The world is such an ugly place. Who would want to be born into a society like ours?", Seokjin relayed, face scrunched at the thought.

"Alphas.", Jisoo said in a matter-of-fact way before glancing at Jihyo. "No offense to you, unnie."

"None taken. So, how were you matched with your alpha?", Jihyo asked, now also invested in the story.

"Well, when I started the matching process, I put zero in the number of desired children part of the form. I was fortunate that during my time omegas were finally allowed to have a say in the number of heirs they're willing to carry. When the officer read that, he asked me repeatedly if I was sure. He tried so hard to convince me to put at least 1 heir so that I have a higher chance of getting included in the matching pool but I refused. Anyway, my psych evaluation came out clear so they had no choice but to input my name in the system. They informed my parents that due to that particular answer, I may never get matched as alphas prefer to have multiple children to ensure that they would produce at least one alpha heir. My parents were furious. What are they going to do with an unmatched omega child? I was lucky that my brother, the one after me who's to inherit the bakery, told them that I can continue to work in the bakery and that he'll build a small room for me in there just in case I never get matched so they had no choice but to just accept the situation."
