Chapter 32: The Wicked Agony

You closed the door behind and walked through the halls to the kitchen to prepare dinner. you walked pasted the main hall you as usual admired the hall because it looked so elegant and had a calm tone to it, you walked over to the fireplace and lit up the place you warmed up you're hands by the fire and closed your eyes. you sighed deeply and daydreamed while enjoying the moment, you stood up feeling refreshed you look up to the vases that were on top of the fireplace.

"I'll get new ones tomorrow" you said to yourself and took the old violets from the both white vases. you turned around and threw away flowers and headed to the kitchen now. you could hear already some maids talking from the other side. you pushed the door open and greeted the fellow maids in the kitchen.

"Good evening, Miss Y/N." a young maiden said that stood beside Loana by the counter.

"Evening, Alicent" you said back with a soft smile you slightly liked being called so formal by other maids it made you feel like you were a important maid in the castle.

"What's on the menu Loana?"

"The lady requested beef soup for tonight" she said and looked at you with a smile.

"Alright let's start cooking then!" you said excitingly and started chopping the vegetables and meat with Alicent.

"You want to become a cook maiden?"
you asked Alicent and turned your head to her. she had short dark brown hair and green-ish eyes.

"Yes, but I'm definitely not as good as you two."

"I learned from the best.." you said and looked at Loana with a proud smile "You will too!" you said and look back at Alicent, you shook her arm with yours with a reassuring look.

"I'll try my best..." she said and put the cut up vegetables in the cooking pot.

"What are the side dishes?" you asked and looked at Loana who was preparing some ingredients for the side dishes.

"Sarmale cabbages and crispy bread for the warm soup."

"That's sounds like heaven, can't wait!"

"Mhm, how is it actually to eat dinner with them?" she asked curiously.

"Feels like family dinner, you talk about things you did today or things you might do in the week, I usually listen to them having conversations with each other but sometimes I pick also a topic with them also, and it's just..normal and comforting.." you smile down at the ingredients as you think how close you actually are with them.

"They do feel like family to you, don't they?" she said softly and looked at you with soft gaze.

"They do... they feel like daughters sometimes to me"

"What about the lady?" she smirked

"What about her?"

"Did you...like...confess yet?" she said slowly.

"Loana!" you said quickly and put a finger on lips you looked around to see if anyone had heard it, no one looked at you which was a relief. you turned slowly back to Loana and saw Alicent looking at you. you smile at her acting normal and turn back to Loana.

"Did you?" she whispers to you...

"No..." you whisper back and cut a carrot with a knife.

"What's taking so long!" she whispers

"I don't know if she feels the same about me... after all I'm just a simple maiden in this castle..."

"But you two... you know.."

"Once." you whispered extra quietly

"I've heard your screams more then once darling"

"That wasn't me..." you lied and looked away.
