You rushed out of your room and ran to the guest room down the hall, despite the fact that the floor beneath you was shaking. You yanked the door open and fixed your gaze on Daniela, who was kneeling on the ground, covering her painful ringing ears. Bela stood by her side and trying to get her up from the cold floor. In a frenzy, you ran to the creaky windows and covered them with the white curtains.

"It's okay, Daniela, it's okay, come on.." You spoke in a faint voice, assisting Bela.

"What are those sirens?" Bela asked, her expression bewildered, her scared gaze drawn to yours.

You shook your head, unable to put into words what was happening. "I─I don't know, hurry downstairs, it is not safe here." You headed downstairs while holding Daniela to one side. You quickly ran to the front door after placing Daniela on the couch. You could hear rushing footsteps on the stairs as you pushed the cupboard in front of the door, piling any kind of furniture you found surrounding you.

"Y/N, the windows!" Bela yelled as she backed away from the windows, which were creaking loudly.

"Get back! Get back! Don't come near them." You shouted horrified as you watched the glass freeze, as if it was about to burst at any point. The girls backed up against the wall, watching while you covered the windows with any blanket or cloth you could find. Fear rushed through your veins as you heard faint screams outside, terrified for your life from whatever was attacking the village.

As you draped a blanket over the windows, you noticed small whimpers behind you. Daniela's yellow eyes were filled with sheer horror as she looked at her trembling hands as you tilted your head to the side. Her fingers began to turn gray, and little cracks appeared on her pale hands.

"It's okay, Dani, take deep breaths." Cassandra attempted to calm her down as her breathing pace increased.

Your eyes widen, and you immediately rush over to them "No, no, no─this can't be happening!" You shrieked as you held her ice-cold hands, which started crystallizing with each passing second.

"Y- y/n.." She looked up at you in panic.

"It's going to be alright, don't worry, everything will be okay." You tried to reassure her by brushing your hands on hers and trying to create heat. You panickedly grabbed the small piece of wood left near the fireplace and flung it. You went up to your aunt's bookshelf, grabbed as many books as you could carry, and tossed them into the fireplace. You reached for the matches and tossed a few sticks into the fireplace, starting a fire.

"Sit by the fire, don't go anywhere. I'll get more blankets and jackets!" you said, leading them to the warm fire. They nodded and cuddled up against one other, quivering in fear and resisting the bitter cold. You dashed upstairs and unlocked the wardrobe in a hurry, grabbing any clothing, jackets, or scarfs you could find. You hurriedly changed into your previous clothes as the sirens continued to reverberate throughout the village, and you heard horrible screams in every corner of the home. Holding the girls' cloak dresses, you rushed downstairs and approached them by the warm fire.

"Get dressed and put on the jackets." You said, handing each of them clothing to change into. When the house began to shake violently, you looked across at the framed photos, which shuddered to bits. It felt as if the world around you had suddenly stopped. Everything felt destroyed, like glass, and you couldn't understand why this was happening. The village was bright and joyous just yesterday, but what happened over the next few hours turned it into a blazing terror. The only thing on your mind was how you would get to the castle without being ripped apart by the monsters who roamed outside.

Cassandra's trembling voice took you away from your mind. "What the fuck is happening outside!?" she asked, confused, grasping her sickle tightly in her palm.
