Chapter 48: West End Girls

Alcina's POV:

After you lost sight of the car driving into the forest, you headed back to the castle. You closed the big double door and turned around with a heavy, clenching feeling in your chest. There was an uneasy feeling roaming through your body after you let them go to the dangerous village. You walked over the little steps and glared at the big portrait. As you passed it, a warm smile appeared on the corners of your lips as you looked at the beautiful painting of your daughters.

'My little doves..'

You glanced at the painting one more time before heading to the main hall. As you walked through the quiet castle, you realized how silent the castle felt without hearing the girls giggle in your ears. Daniela, who was always fighting with her sisters and talking to her books in the library; Bela, who was almost every day in the kitchen trying to improve her skills and making a silly mess when something didn't turn out the way she wanted, Cassandra, who was always chasing the other maids with her sickle and often played hide and seek with everybody. Y/N, who was always by your side and helping you with everything. It felt odd, only hearing the sounds of your own heels fill the empty castle walls.

You headed back to your office, which was on the second floor. You stopped in your tracks and narrowed your eyes at the window you were passing by. You stood in front of the big window and wandered your eyes over the village in the distance. As you glared at the village in peace, the sound of quiet heels became more clear on your left side.

"The castle feels oddly quiet without them.." You heard Loana say beside you.

You sighed softly "It is indeed.."

She glanced up at you, then at the village "I didn't expect you would've let them go, my lady.."

"I don't want them to feel trapped in their own home.."

Your POV:

"Woo-hoo! A trip to that damn cursed village!" Karl said with a laugh while driving the car through a forest.

"Are you guys excited?" You said cheerfully, turning your head to the girls in the back, they all smiled widely and nodded excitedly.

"What shall we do in the village?" You asked the girls.

Karl disturbed you with a laugh "Wowow! Excuse me?" He took off his sunglasses and looked at you "You don't really think Alcina would let you go alone without me watching over you?"

You looked confused at him "What the hell do you mean?"

He laughed "She said I needed to watch over you guys.."

Your eyes widened as you quickly realized why she was doing this "That's why she did this!" You leaned back into your seat, disappointed "I fucking knew it.."

The girls started begging Karl as they realized they can't go to the village without him following you all around "Uncle!.. Please!!" The girls placed their hands against each other.

He shook his head, looking at them through the view mirror "You know how your mother is.."

You glanced at him "How much did she pay you?"

He laughed with a scoff "I didn't have much of a choice! She basically forced me to guard you!"

"Karl! Please! Let us go to the damn village.." You begged him.

Karl sighed deeply, driving over a rocky path "You've got to understand that she'll kill me if she finds out!"

"Come on! We just want to have fun!" You argued back.
