"M.. Maria? .." you almost choked out in utter disbelief, your eyes widening as her glowing green eyes gazed over yours with a subtle smile behind the long golden mask. Her entire attire was covered in a long black feathery dress nearly identical to Miranda's, with the tips of her fingers hugged by pointed golden rings that carresed your quivering cheek. "How I've missed you, Y/N." Maria spoke with a relieved chuckle as the corners of her lips curled into a warm smile.
The cold, stinging voice startled you out of your paralyzed state, as if the bones in your body had frozen in place. "Oh, look, who it is. I must admit, I am somewhat impressed that you finally gathered your pathetic courage to confront me after all these years." Mother Miranda spoke, her heels echoing on the final step.
While Maria's gaze rested on yours, her frigid, stubbled voice muttered to Miranda, who took slow steps towards your shaking, weeping figure on the floor. "You really took it this far, sister?" Maria hinted firmly, her bold gaze glimpsing at the approaching Miranda, recalling to your wounded, aching figure that bled terrified on the marble floor.
Miranda raised her hands, almost in a shrug. "It was the only way I could see you again, Muzania. It's been centuries, hasn't it?" Miranda chuckled deviously, as if Maria had fallen for her trap.
Your brow furrowed in surprise as you shifted your gaze to Miranda. "Sister?" you spoke, bewildered under your breath.
Miranda snickered deviously as she narrowed her gaze on you. "It's almost pathetic that you don't know the whole truth, Y/N." She pouted bitterly and tilted her head toward Maria. "Isn't that right, Aunty Maria?" she stated, grinning, as if saying the name amused her.
Maria's eyes drew bolder as she rose from the floor, her green shining gaze locked on her sister. "She wouldn't needed to know if you weren't a twisted maniac, Miranda. But you didn't give up, did you? Your will to murder me is almost fascinating to see, sister." Maria finished with a soft sigh.
Miranda laughed gently upon hearing her. "Oh, is it now? I must admit that you dedicated your entire life to ruthlessly abducting her from her parents when she was just a small child. It almost makes me laugh that you identified yourself as her dear 'aunt'. Now that's genuine commitment, if you ask me. Coldly brainwashing her into all the lies you've told her over the years simply to use her for your miserable cover-up after what you did, sister." Miranda slowly narrowed her head toward you. "How does it feel to know you were only used for your aunt's sake, Y/N?" She added with a cruel, devious smile.
You felt your lips part while a wave of devasting shock crossed over your entire face as you narrowed your head to Maria. "W.. what?" A silence fell over Maria, who stared rightfully at her sister, Miranda's words filling the disbelieving, daunting silence. "Nothing to say, sister?" Miranda mocked as Maria frowned in response.
"Do not act as a fool as if you're not familiar with kidnapping little children. Might killing them mercilessly for your egoistic useless experiments?" Maria hissed out behind her mask.
Miranda's frown might have sent shivers down your spine as she approached Maria, her eyes wide in an intimating manner. "Oh, foolish? you say." Miranda snickered, as their steps surrounded you, their gazes never leaving one other. "Oh, sister, how I would gladly rip your heart out with utter pleasure right at this moment. Just like you did with my little Eve." Miranda's menacing words echoed across the room as she locked her piercing blue eyes on Maria's.
