The time flew fast. Ngayon na nga ang araw na pinakahihintay ng pamilya ko. But not me. Though it was supposed to be a happy day for me, hindi ko kayang sumaya. I don't want faking my feelings regarding this. Buti nga sabado ang birthday ko at hindi nung biyernes kundi iisipin kong malas ang araw ng kapanganakan ko.
"Ready?" Napalingon ako sa pintuan. Si Adam.
He looked dashing and charming. Clad in a maroon three-piece suit, his hair brushed back with some pieces falling on the side of his face like a bad boy vibe, he really looked prepared for this.
He went in with a proud smile on his face. Lumapit siya at hinawakan ang kaliwang kamay ko habang tinitignan ang kabuuan ko. He turned me around which earned him a soft chuckle from me.
"Gorgeous." Isang salita na nagpa init ng mga pisngi ko. Tinignan ko ang sarili sa salamin.
I was wearing a rose gold sequin wrap split backless gown. My hair was tied up in a messy, half bun with strips of hair falling on the sides. Gusto ko sanang nakabagsak lang ang buhok ko ngunit pinilit ng stylist na itali para daw makita ang kabuuan ng suot ko. And so, we came up with both by doing the half bun. Naka light make up lang din ako. I hate heavy make up, mukha akong clown.
"Let's go. They're waiting for you." He pulled me out of my suite.
Ah yes. Escort ko nga pala siya. Which, I wouldn't have to explain why, right? My family really took a great effort to do this party so I'll just get along. Baka naman pagbigyan nila ako sa hiling ko pagkatapos nito.
"And now, let us welcome the birthday celebrant!" Rinig ko ang boses ng Emcee. Sunod nito ang malakas na palakpakan.
"Miss Evergreen Seth Antonio!" That's the cue. Adam guided my arm to his as he sauntered down the stairs, gently tugging me to him.
"With her escort of course, Mr. Adamus Cain Viejo!" Mas lumakas ang hiyawan habang naglalakad kami pababa ng hagdan.
Inikot ko ang paningin sa buong hall. Malawak ito at talagang naaccommodate nito ang mga bisita. May malaking espasyo pa sa gitna na tila isa itong dance floor. Napadako ang tingin ko sa stage. There, clad in their beautiful and charming attires, my family were all smiling. Kasama din nila ang pamilya nila Adam. If it isn't my birthday, I would've thought this is an engagement party.
Nang makarating kami sa stage ay agad ding nag umpisa ang programa. They had a lot of greetings and such which I just went with the flow. Naging abala ako sa pag entertain sa mga bisita na ang iba ay di ko naman kilala. Siguro hapunan lang ang tanging naging pahinga ko.
"So, do you like it?" Inangat ko ang tingin kay Mamita Esperanza. She was beaming at me. Andito kami sa isang malaking round table na nakaset para aming pamilya. I sighed and slumped my back.
"Well, except for entertaining those guest I don't even know, this is acceptable." Prankang sagot ko. Nakita ko ang gulat sa mga mukha nila. Ngunit agad ding nakabawi. Mamita Esperanza pursed her lips then shrugged her shoulders.
"Don't worry hija. There's more." Then she smirked. Nag umpisa na akong makaramdam ng kaba.
'I knew it! There is something!'
"And now, may we call the family of the celebrant. I was told just this morning about some big surprise! Now let's not make everyone wait right?!" Nagsitaasan ang mga balahibo ko.
Sila Mama ay nagsitayuan at kasama rin nila sila Tita Conchita. Lahat sila ay mukhang tuwang tuwa sa mga nangyayari.
'Wait, bakit kasama ang pamilya ni Adam?'
