CHAPTER 2:ATHELIA

I took my phone out and connected to my ipods and started listening to wildside by Normani.l always wonder why Camillo Cabelo left fifth harmony or even why the whole group disbanded they sang good songs like for real.Either ways l had a lot on my.Like was l supposed to live my life alone.l was lonely honestly.l had no time to make friends in between work  and school,but now l was going to a new school and l want to start afresh have friends too.

I doze off looking at the scenery ouside.We still had a long way to go.

I wake up to somebody calling my name."Miss Delancy please wake up we have arrived"Joe says unbuckling his seatbelt and exiting the car.l sit up and stretch.Sleeping in the car is uncomfortable l'm very sure l have sprained by neck its painful.

I carefully exit the car and take my bag with me.We were still at the gate.l couldn't see the school from here.l wonder why l am being dropped here at the gate.l walk to Joe probably to ask him the reason why l am here at the gate instead of inside the school.

"Joe tell me.Why are you dropping me off at the gate how am l supposed to get to the school"l look at him a little bit irritated.

"Miss Delancy"he takes the remaining suitcase out of the car trunk.

"Please call me Athelia".l think its rude to let a older person to refer to you as Miss whilst you are young enough to be that persons daughter.

"Okay Miss De__l'm sorry Athelia its just that l am used to it l have been a driver in this school for as long as l remember and l have been driving a lot of different students and l'm always calling them formally.Anyways l will leave you here and you will be picked up from here by another car"Joe closes the car trunk.

"Why do l need to be picked up by another car.Aren't you supposed to drive me all the way"huhhh rich people.

He chuckles."Athelia every student who is here on scholarship is dropped off the gate then picked up again.That's just the way it is see you around Athelia and remember be yourself Athelia and don't fall into the traps of this school otherwise you would not come out"With that said he got into his car and drove off.

Whilst l was still trying to process what he said a golf car came.l thought it was passing by maybe some kids who were playing golf and ranaway with the car but Alas it was the car that was supposed to pick me up.A golf car,Out of all the  things a golf car .A horseback ride would have been better.

The driver helped me put my two suitcases on the cart and we drove off.
After sometime we arrived at the most beautiful place l had ever seen.l couldn't stop staring.l think the fat ,stout man saw that.He looked at me with a small smile then said."This is the school area".SCHOOL AREA wow it looked like it was a palace or even something better than that.The building looked like it was somewhat made of mirrors that were crystal clear.They reflected everything that was surrounding it.lf you didn't look carefully you wouldn't see the building.lt looked almost not there but it was still awesome to say the least.Props to the Architecture.

We passed by the school grounds.There were children playing outside.They were playing Basketball and others were at the Football grounds.l wasn't that sporty my self but l still ran like l was superfast.

We arrived at the Hostel.The hostel was very beautiful nevertheless.They were huge but there were two of them .l guess the other belonged to the boys.These buikdings were pretty tall.l guess they had about 20bfloors each.Like seriously how many children go to this school.

"Miss Delancy please make your way inside to the lobby.We will bring your luggage upstairs to your room shortly"l thanked him and went inside to the lobby.

I arrived there and went to the receptionist l guess that is what she is.lf not what do you call a person who sits behind the desk at the lobby with numerous telephones on the desk.

"Miriam please do me this favour one last time l promise l will pay you back"A guy that was facing the receptionist who l presume is Miriam said.l went closer to the well polished and neat lobby desk.

"No Ethan l keep doing you these favours and last week you almost git caught stupid boy"Miriam said adjusting her glasses,then turns to look at me.She was beautiful indeed.As a receptionist you would expect old ladies with big nerdy
glasses and funny hairstyles but her she had fiery red hair,lots of freckles but she looked stern either ways.Who wouldn't be when you are working in a school with snoobby kids.

"I will give you my jelly tots l promise please"Ethan said trying to put his l think puppy face look byt he was failing miserably and Miriam seemed unbothered.

"Go away from here little demon"Miriam said visibly tired."How can l help you dear"she smiled warmly.

"Uhm my name is Athelia Delancy and l am new here so l was hoping l could get my schedule and room number and the other necessary stuff"l tell her.

Miriam started looking for my things"Oh yes Miss Delancy you were the last of the new students to arrive welcome to Marigold academy"she handed me the file with everything l will need for now.

"Thank you"l flashed her a smile."You were too late dear the others have already been taken to a tour around school but l am sure we will find someone to show you around.She looked at the Ethan guy as if she was thinking.Ethan was standing there as if he had seen a ghost he looked a little pale.

"Ah l thnnk l have found someone to give you a tour"She turned and looked at Ethan."If you want me to grant you that wish of yours show Miss Delancy around."ltz like he was frozen but he shook all thst away quickly and continued with his playful look on his face.

"Okay Miriam its a deal.Lets go what is your name again_____yeah Athelia but l will call you lia"he pulled me and started dragging me.Now that l looked closely Ethan is handsome wuth his mop of dirty blonde curly hair and forest green eyes,he was pretty tall too.

"So Lia tell me where are you from"
He said trying to make light a conversation."l'm from newyork"l was still focusing on the homongous flower garden we had decided to sit in.

"So you are a city girl huh l'm pretty sure you are not used to quiet places like here."he said while opening a packet of skittles.Where did that even come from?

When he realised l was still looking at him.A light chuckle escaped from him "Don't be shocked Lia l like sweet things wherever l go l make sure they are there almost like my babies infact l like food in general "he laughed then pulled my hand to stand up.

"Its okay Ethan l think l love food more than you do"l said assuring him.

"No you don't"he onjected.This debate about who loves food more continued up until it turned into a game of tag.l was now running like a crazy person God knows where.With Ethan hot on my heels.l discovered that ethan was a fun person to be around.He had said earlier that we would make best of friends because our preferences were similar.

Suddenly l bumped into someone.
"I_l'm s_sorry".l stuttered and looked at the person l bumped into.

He looks down at me and he syoffens then starts getting pale.

"Yo Ethan l will speak to you at the basketball field l_l_l have to go somewhere".he pats Ethan on his back then leaves without saying a word.

"Whats wrong with him Ethan for a person l just met for the first he was behaving strangely".

I just shrugged it off and chatted a little with Ethan then left for my room.
