SONNET 140
Shedding dikes for causeways however bluish deep,
Needn't lifetimes t' ascend a comprehension sue?
Obscurity kept our blessings, but talent reaps
A flag-burnt glory, bask! though, woe however true.
Truth's inferior levee awaits; it melts through me
Melting into you, spoke honest from identity
For much love comprehensible to me casts thee
My heart to instead should rivers reach willingly,
Does logic valor, yet soul more brittled censures
Out all inquisition. Pray it finds us searching.
Breath'f essence, washing through life like songbirds reserved --
Cascade still o'erflown -- They're everything worth everything
Sure foggèd emotionless emotion comes wrath
On pumice gropes both Love and Truth's in me outstretch'd.
