Y/n POV
Jealousy,rage,hatred,confusion. All of those emotions I never thought I would feel towards my Ellie, my backstabbing, lying Ellie.
It all started a month and a half ago, I was paired up with Jesse instead on El for patrol, I'm ALWAYS paired with Ellie and I always have been since we were allowed on patrol, so like 5-ish years? I don't know. Ellie was paired with Dina, I've always been close with Jesse and Dina but I could just feel the energy being weird when Ellie and her were together, like really fucking weird, there was tension I could feel it, and I think Jesse could to.
While me and Jesse were out scouting for runners and shit we were talking, and he felt the exact same way he could tell Dina was off and Ellie when we were all together. It made me worry, REALLY worry. But I trusted Ellie, like a dumbass.
Two days ago marks the day I say Ellie and Dina kissing, with my best fucking friend? Really Ellie?. Ellie has no idea we know, neither does Dina. Oh me and Jesse were pissed, so,so pissed. So we came up with a plan, We we're going to act all flirty and cute towards eachother, just to fuck with them, get under their skin, make them feel how we feel. A town party was happening tonight, perfect. Dance with eachother, talk together, drink together, that's it, we both agreed that it would be fake as fuck, hella funny, and hopefully work. So I walk into my empty house and walk upstairs to me and you know who's closet. I pick out some boot cut jeans and a tank top, take a shower, put it on and comb my hair and best as I can. I hear the front door open, shit, I don't want to see her right now, I never would have thought I'd have to think that. I walk out of the bathroom and into our bedroom,sit on the bed and start reading. The sight of them keeps replaying in my head like a broken record, over and over again on repeat. "Y/n?? Where are you?" I don't respond, I hear her coming up the stairs in front of our bedroom door. "Y/n?" She pushes the door open slightly causing my to glance up, "hey, you didn't respond when u called your name, did you hear me?" I shrug, still glancing at the word on the books torn up and worn down pages. "You ok?" She says sliding her converse off and setting them best to the door against the wall, "I'm fine" I said slightly shaking my head in a 'no' manner shrugging faintly, as if I'm declining the fact that she's standing in front of me acting as innocent as ever.
"Uh,ok we'll the town party thing is happening tonight, no kids allowed this time, you wanna go?" "Yeah I'm already going with Jesse." I say in a monotone voice. "Jesse?" "Yeah I figured you would go with Dina so I asked him" she looked surprised, shocked even. "Oh, ok, well you were right I am going with Dina" she said putting her hands in her grey sweatshirt pockets.
Me and Ellie didn't talk until it was time to go, while I was walking down the stairs to meet jesse at the time we said, she grabs my arm and smiles at me, I can't even look at her right now.
We make our way to the bar and jesse is standing outside waiting for me. He gives me a sudle weird look, probably about me being with Ellie, as I shrug off Ellie arm and give her a unwanted and awkward hug for her to go find Dina. "The hell was that all about?" He says looking at me like I have four heads, "I don't know she just walked me here" I say shrugging
We walk into the busy bar with people laughing and some already tipsy, it was loud and there was older music playing from a radio. I walk over to the bar with Jesse shortly following behind me and order a drink. I See Dina and Ellie taking from across the room, just chatting like they aren't back stabbing bitches but you know not my place to say that yet. We danced for a bit before Jesse went to go get another drink when Suddenly I feel someone grab at my shoulders from behind so out of reflex, I turn around quickly to see an older man I've never seen or met before wich is surprising since everyone knows everyone in this town. "Hey there pretty lady, you with anybody?" He says slightly slurring his words while his hand is still on my shoulder "uh yeah I am actually" I say shrugging his hand off my and turning around to walk away "well who? You seem pretty lonely if you ask me" he says turning me back around "that was your cue to leave me the hell alone, I don't know you and I really don't want to" I say slightly annoyed he didn't just leave it at that, "c'mon gorgeous, come dance with me" he says slightly grabbing at his groin "hey! What hell is going on here?" I hear a familiar voice slightly yell, Jesse thank the lord. "Genuinely I don't know lets fucking go" I say rushing towards the doors or the bar, I look over at Ellie and Dina just watching the whole scene unravel, and instead of helping or sticking up for me Ellie just watched, like she didn't know and didn't even care, wow. I walk out of the bar with my boots slamming against the gravel as I hear Jesse speeding up to catch up to me, "I'm so sorry that happened y/n, what a dickhead." "Yeah, and Ellie didn't even try to help she just watched I saw her!" I say getting angry now that I think of her sitting there, with her cheating face and cheating best friend and- Jesse snapped me out of my thoughts by tapping my shoulder, I look up to see my house, damn we got here fast. "You ok? Did even hear anything I said?" Jesse said "yeah sure goodnight"I say quickly, sure it was a dick move to kinda ignore him like that but I didn't wanna talk to anyone anymore, let alone stand next to them.
I walk inside our, or at least my house since Ellie was probably gonna stay with Dina and do god knows what. I unzip my boots and throw them next to the door, I walk upstairs sluggishly and change into my comfy clothes, jump into bed and close my eyes, slowly falling into a trance of sleep.
I wake up to the sound of our front door being shut and the sound of stumbling up our stairs,shit Ellies home. The bedroom door opens and I see the one and only. "Hey baby" she says in a low slurred voice, "uh hi, are you ok?" "Uh yeahhh I'm ok, I just had like that many drinks" she holds up a two on her hand "there's no fucking way you just did that" I say. I turn over and wait for her to climb into bed, I feel the bed dip next to me and the scent of alcohol. I look at the clock, 1:23AM Jesus fuck. "You know I do really love you, like a lot" she says severely slurring her words a simple hun was all I could get out.
