Eventually, it got later and the two of them collectively decided that it was time to head back and get some rest before they moved on. They both shared small anecdotes on the way home, small glimpses into each other's lives before they eventually arrived back at the hotel.

"That was fun." Rory stated as they got back to their room, a small but genuine smile on her face.

"Most fun I've had in seventy years" Bucky replied in a light tone, to which Rory chuckled. His situation was hard, but he was making the best of it - which she admired.

"Well, we've got time. Just wait till I show you KFC" She joked as she laid down on her bed and he did the same. "Night" Rory said with a smile as she finally laid her head down on her pillow. Bucky was still sat, contemplating whether he was in the right frame of mind to sleep or not.

"Night, Rory" he said with a smile, eventually laying down and trying to think only of the recent times he had shared with the blonde on the other side of the room and not of the things he had done or the things he had done to him before he met her.

Bucky took longer to fall asleep than Aurora, so she awoke with the sun as she always did. She noticed Bucky was still asleep when she got up and left him to rest as she packed the remainder of her things and set up the relevant plans for their move from Paris.

She had mentioned driving to Bordeaux, so with that being the plan, she rented a car for the next two weeks. Due to the last-minute nature of the booking, they only had small manual cars available but that really didn't bother her. Nick Fury had insisted she learnt to drive stick all those years ago, which was paying off now.

Aurora showered and changed and set up her things ready to go, as well as sorting Bucky's things the best she could without waking him. Rather than leaving, she settled on the balcony and made herself a coffee using the machine in the room and sat and sipped it as she overlooked Paris for a little longer.

After an hour or so, Bucky awoke with a few groans and went out to join Aurora. "You should've woken me, have you been up long?" He asked her, pushing his brown hair from his blue eyes.

Rory was curled up with her coffee, looking happy enough. She shook her head to his question "Not too long, you looked tired, so I wanted to let you rest. Have you been sleeping okay?" She asked.

The question was a simple one, but it still threw him off. Almost every night he had suffered from one night terror or another and as much as he didn't want to admit that, after everything she had done for him – he didn't think it was fair to lie.

He shrugged "Not the best, but I'll be okay" Bucky said, offering a smile.

She arched her brow "Nightmares, right?" Rory asked, knowing the look on his face matched a look she had seen in the mirror too many times. "I get them too. Not as much as I used to, but I get them too" She admitted as a show of solidarity.

Bucky was surprised for a moment before he remembered that she had experienced a far more sinister life than he was aware of. "How do you deal with them?" He asked, genuinely seeking some advice if she could give it.

Aurora chuckled and shrugged lightly "Easy answer? I don't. How do you deal with something you have no control over, that's a big question. I guess I just try to ground myself as much as I can and remind myself that those things are in the past and the past can't hurt you." She concluded.

Bucky took in what she was saying, nodding slightly before going inside to shower and get ready for the day ahead. He noticed that Aurora had already packed up some of his things for him, so he finished the job and packed the rest of his few belongings into his case before going back out to join her.
