warnings: injury mention toward the end.
After the moment shared the night before, the two of them didn't say much more. Bucky was overwhelmed by the feeling of having someone in his life, even just for a little bit and Aurora was still battling with the complex nature of the man. Everything was fast and confusing for both of them, but Rory was warming up to the idea of them doing this together.
She fell asleep quickly after getting into bed. The alcohol and the sun from the previous day had left her more tired than usual, as well as the jetlag from the change in time zone.
After Rory was asleep, Bucky spent a little longer studying the map that she had laid out and familiarising himself with the route she had suggested. He read the notes she had left in the margin of the map. Cursive letters detailing where to go, how long to stay and where to go next.
There was no denying that Aurora Blake was incredibly intelligent and she did, in fact, know what she was doing. Bucky was just grateful to have seen that other side to her as opposed to the one where she snapped all the time. Having the security that he knew where he was going next, this meant that sleep finally took hold of him and he managed to get a few hours rest before he was awoken by the sound of Aurora getting ready.
Bucky sat up slowly, which alerted Aurora that he was awake.
"Sorry, did I wake you?" She asked as she stood in the mirror, pulling her hair up into a ponytail and applying a little bit of makeup that she had bought from Sephora the day before.
Bucky shook his head "Don't worry, I'm a light sleeper." He replied "Where are you going?" He asked instinctively, even though it was likely none of his business and she would probably tell him as much.
Rory turned around, tilting her head slightly at his question. "Well" She began "I was thinking of playing tourist today. Eiffel tower, Arc De Triomphe, all of that stuff" Rory stated "Don't worry, I know you don't want to come. I'll be gone in a minute so you can.. do whatever it is you do" Aurora said in a pleasant enough tone as she slipped on her Hermes sandals.
Bucky arched his brow. Aurora wasn't wrong, he wasn't really in the mood for touring but he figured she had taken a chance on him - so maybe he should offer the same courtesy.
"Well, would you mind if I came?" He asked, not wanting to integrate himself in her plans without invitation.
Rory was confused at this but shrugged plainly "You're more than welcome, I just figured you wouldn't want to".
Bucky shrugged "Well, I've never seen Paris.. at least, I don't think I have. So as long as it's safe - I think I'd like to come. Give me ten minutes?" He asked, standing up, to which Aurora nodded and sat down to wait for him to get ready.
He went to the bathroom and changed, wearing the same jeans from the day before but choosing to wear a different long sleeved henley. Aurora was unsure why his mind had changed on seeing the city, but truthfully she was just grateful that she had a little company for a while.
After a few short minutes, Bucky reemerged and the two were ready to go. He gave her a small smile to signify that he was still happy to go out for the day and with that, they headed out.
The space between the two of them was silent as they walked out of the hotel and up one of the small, old streets of Paris but eventually Bucky decided to break the ice and begin conversation with the blonde.
"So, have you been here before?" He asked her as he carefully looked around at various intervals to ensure nobody was watching them.
Aurora shook her head "Not really, I've stopped by for work before but I've never had time to actually enjoy it - you know?" She asked, to which he nodded in return. "I say we head to the eiffel tower first, that'll be the busiest place" Rory stated.
