The rest of the day was uneventful. Considering their situation, uneventful was a good thing and Aurora and Bucky were both grateful for the peace and quiet that came with being in a rural area. As much as they had both loved their time in Paris in their own ways, neither of them minded being somewhere quieter.

Bucky stayed outside for a little longer while Aurora completed her unpacking. As much as she was reluctant to do so, she wanted to unpack her things as a sign that she truly intended to stay. Other than the obvious fact that she had nothing to get back to, in the space of time that she had been with Bucky, she had grown a little bit more attached than she'd care to admit and she was just being constantly convinced more and more as to why he was deserving of her help.

Before she was done packing, Bucky came back inside and took a seat. "I was thinking, we probably should go get some food. The owner said that there's a shop a few miles into town. I can go alone but.." He paused.

"But what? You'd miss me too much?" She teased "I'm kidding, sounds good. I'm ready whenever" Rory said, pulling her hair up into a ponytail.

Bucky nodded and grabbed the car keys from the counter "Let's go then".

The two of them headed to the car which was located next to the house and Aurora drove them into the town to a small grocery store. It wasn't big at all, but it sold all of the essentials. Rory grabbed a basket and they walked in.

"Anything in particular you want?" She asked him as they meandered around the isles "I can try and cook for us tonight" Rory offered.

"You know how to cook?" He joked in response.

Rory's jaw dropped as she tried not to laugh "Alright then, James. You can cook" She rebutted.

"Alright then, Aurora, I will" He joked in return, a genuine smile across his face.

All of this stuff would seem painfully normal to most people (because it was) but to them, it felt like everything. Enjoying someone's company and doing mundane things were alien concepts to the both of them so it's hardly surprising that they were having such a good time loading up the basket with food items.

The basket eventually got more and more full and heavy, so Bucky took over holding it as they grabbed the last few bits and pieces before heading to the checkout.

Although she would never admit it, this was the first time Aurora had ever done a food shop. In the past, everything had been provided for her so this kind of thing was actually really exciting.

They took turns in placing the items onto the conveyor belt until it was their turn to pay.

"Can I just say, you two are the happiest couple I have seen all day" The lady on the checkout said with a wide smile and a sweet french accent as Aurora paid for the shopping.

For a moment, Rory contemplated correcting her but before she had the chance to, Bucky spoke.

"Thank you very much" He said with a smile as he finished loading the bags and the two of them made their way to the car and placed the bags into the boot.

Rory chuckled to herself as she got into the car, not providing any context as to what she was so amused with.

"What?" Bucky said with a small, low laugh. Her laugh had a habit of making him laugh, she just had that effect on him.

"Nothing" She said, shaking her head "It's just that like, a week or so back, I would have died on the spot if someone called us a couple but now its the second time in a day that we've been referred to as one" Rory shrugged, a smile still evident on her face as they drove away.

Instead of her playlist, she opted to play some more 40s music as they drove back to the farm. "Bucky? Can I ask you something?" Rory said as she drove, looking over at him for a second.

"Of course, what is it?" He responded quickly.

She paused for a second "You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, it may be an inappropriate question but I was just wondering.. how much of your life do you remember, I mean, from like the 40s?" She asked.

Bucky looked at her, not too fazed by her question. Truthfully, it was a question that he had asked himself a few times in the last few days. "Well, if you asked me a week ago I would have said nothing. But, slowly, I am getting some memories back. Small things like what food used to be like and the music we would listen to. I remember some of the names of my family.. but I don't remember their voices.." He trailed "But I'm getting there."

"That's good enough, Buck. You're getting there" She said with a smile.

"So, what about you? Do you have siblings?" He asked her, wanting to get to know her a little bit more.

Rory shook her head "Nope, just me." She began "My family has mostly always just consisted of me and my Dad." She explained "But that's always been enough for me, he is an incredible role model."

"I'd like to meet him one day" Bucky said with a smile "He clearly did a good job in raising you" He complimented.

Rory paused "Technically, you've already met" She admitted.

"We have?" Bucky asked.

"Well, kinda." Aurora paused "His name is Nick Fury." She elaborated.

The cogs were clearly moving in Bucky's head. He remembered the name but he was confused for a moment. "Nick Fury's your dad?" Bucky asked.

"Yeah, don't you see the resemblance?" She said in a matter of fact manner. This was a joke she had run for a long time. Her family dynamic was a unique one, so she couldn't blame him for being slightly confused.

Bucky looked at her, arching a brow. "I-" he began.

"Bucky, relax, it's a joke. I'm adopted" She said, a smile spreading across her features. "My biological father.. he died when i was two, and my mom left a year later. I don't remember their voices either" She admitted "But in a weird way, it has never bothered me. I have always had a parent, which is more than some people so I have no complaints" She said softly.

It was at that moment she realised that she saw him differently. There was Bucky, a kindhearted, soft soul who had been through far too much then there was The Winter Soldier, the person responsible for tearing her family apart. She finally saw the two as two completely separate entities, one being a 'normal' 90 year old man and the other being a product of HYDRA and nothing more. That separation was the reason she decided that she would keep the details of Elijah Blake's death to herself.
