Chapter 17

9:38 P.M.

"Hey, wake up.." I heard a voice speak as I felt someone nudging my shoulder.  I blinked and opened my eyes before sitting up. "Hmmm? What-" I mumbled as I yawned, stretching my arms and letting out a sigh as I looked around. "Where-what time is it?" I asked, blinking.

"It's 9:38, we got here a bit early.." Jaxx's voice spoke, he looked like he had also fallen asleep, his hair a mess and his voice raspy. I looked around and also noticed I had fallen asleep, earlier I couldn't sleep due to the excitement not letting me. Then I realized another thing.

We have arrived. I get to see my brother again..

"Are y'all ready to go?" Alex said, walking towards us and then looked at Jaxx. "Uhh, do you have a comb or a hairbrush I could use?" He laughed, brushing his hair back with his hand. "My hair is a mess.." he said before yawning again. I chuckled at his actions.

Alex laughed along and nodded, "I have one that you can use." She then went over to her bag and pulled out a hairbrush and handed it to Jaxx. Jaxx smiled and grabbed it, using it to brush his hair back into a neat hairstyle.

I then thought of something and felt the need to ask them. "Where exactly are we parked..?" They both looked at me and looked outside. "Just.. like, two houses down from Luca and Light's house," Alex answered, looking outside before looking back at me and she stifled a laugh.

I looked at her confused before she pointed to the top of my head onto my hair. "Your hair is a mess as well, you can use my hairbrush if you want I guess," She laughed, walking away to check on the pets. Jaxx laughed along with her and turned his attention onto me.

Jaxx handed me the hair brush while also ruffling his hand in my hair, causing me to groan and smack his hand away. "Stop that," I grunted, brushing my hair. He laughed but then slowly stopped as he looked outside. It was dark and the moon was out, the stars twinkling as they covered the sky.

As I brushed my hair I thought about how it would go. I started to get anxious, I started to bounce my leg. I took deep breaths to try and calm myself. Moon then jumped up on me and it caused me to flinch, I pulled my own hair on accident and whined about it "ow..."

I laughed at myself letting go of the brush to pet Moon. He purred as I started to pet him and leaned into my touch.

I realized that this might be the last time I get to see Moon.

"Are y'all ready to go now?" Alex said, her voice sounding sleepy. She walked up to us with the pets asleep behind her. I looked up at her and gulped. I feel nervous now. What if Luca doesn't want to see me? What if I mess up again? What if.. what if.. what if..-

"Hey, it's going to be okay, I promise.." Jaxx voice spoke, breaking through my train of thought. I felt him run his fingers through my hair in a soothing manner and I sent him a nervous smile. I stood up and looked outside.

"So, how will this work? Do we go and surprise him right now or in the morning?" I asked, darting my eyes between Jaxx and Alex as they went back to thinking. I stared at them and they looked down before looking back up at me.

"We can go meet them right now if you want.." Jaxx suggested, looking back down at me. I stood up off of my seat. Earlier that day, I had taken off my eyepatch and the only thing that was left was a small red bruise. I smiled in relief as I could finally see from both of my eyes.

I looked back at Jaxx and hesitantly nodded. Alex and him nodded back at me before walking to the RV's entrance. I followed after them, sharing the door creak open as they stepped out of the RV. As I stepped out of the RV, I was hit with the night's pleasant chilly yet somewhat warm wind.
