"You guys ready for school?", Chris has been talking about school for the past few weeks and every time he brings it up, he seems to get upset, so I'm slightly confused why he just brought it up.
Gordie and I exchange looks, "Uh, I guess." We both say. Chris sighs m, but looks oddly content.
"Yup, we'll all be split up by September,"
Gordie and I stop walking, causing Chris to stop and turn towards us,
"What? Chris, why would that happen?" I don't know why Chris would say some dumb shit like that.
Chris laughs and looks between the two of us likes it's obvious, "Well, you and Gordie will be taking your college courses and Vern, Teddy, and I will be in the shop courses with the rest of the regards making ashtrays and birdhouses."
I cross my arms, "No, that's not gonna happen and you know it! Stop being so dumb about this, none of us are splitting up!"
Gordie nods, "Yeah! No way I'm gonna be surrounded by a bunch of pussies without you!"
Chris shakes his head, "it's gonna be fine guys! You're gonna meet a lot of new guys... smart guys." He finished the sentence by looking at me.
Gordie shakes his head and starts walking again, me following him, "A lot of pussies is what you mean!"
"Yeah!"
Chris grabs us by our shoulders and holds us back, "No, Guys! Don't say that! Don't even think that! You guys are gonna go on together and take the college courses! Don't even worry about us, alright?"
Chris yank my shoulder away and start walking, "No, no way, man! No way am I doing it without you." I didn't want to hear Chris and Gordie arguing, so I walked up to Teddy and Vern
"No way, man! Superman's a real guy, But Mighty Mouse is just a cartoon! Superman would definitely win in a fight!"
I cringe at their conversation and decide to just float between the two conversations going on, taking probably the only time I'm going to have to myself today alone.
A few minutes of peaceful silence pass before Teddy yells again,
"Come on, you slow asses! Pick up your tail or the kid's not even gonna be dead when we find him!"
I furrow my eyebrows at his statement before Chris and Gordie come running to my side, Chris throwing his arm around my shoulder as usual and Gordie looking a sad, as usual.
