"AWHOOOOO!"

I bolt up.

No dad anywhere.

I sigh in relief when I'm suddenly being startled again by another howl.

I look around noticing everyone else awake, Chris's eyes searching the trees and bushes.

I walk over to him and crouch next to him. He notices and gives me a small smile.

"What d'ya think it is?"

He shrugs as Gordie joins us, "Probably just coyotes if I had to guess.",

Teddy laughs, "No way it's coyotes! It's Ray Brower's ghost!", Vern cringes at his words,

"Don't say that!"

I smile at their antics but drop it as Teddy starts to get up, heading for the trees, "Teddy, get your ass back here! You don't know what's out there!"

Teddy laughs again, "Oh, yes I do! It's his ghost!"

"Don't say that!", Vern cries out while curling up into his sleeping bag for safety.

"It's true, Vern! It's his ghost, and I'm gonna go find him!-", Teddy was suddenly cut off by another howl, this time, strong enough to knock him back onto his own sleeping bag.

I roll my eyes, "Wow. You're so tough, Teddy.",

He mockingly laughs and rolls his eyes.

A few more seconds pass and the thought of how we're going to go back to sleep crosses my mind.

I sit on my bottom and cross my legs, "So... How are we going back to sleep?"

Vern sits up, "We should keep watch!", he blurts out with the sleeping bag pulled damn near right below his nose,

"Hey, that's actually not too bad an idea, Vern.", Chris said,

Teddy shoots his hand up, "I call dibs on first watch!"

We all hesitate, looking at each other for a reaction in what to do. Gordie and Chris both seemed fine with it while, I on the other hand, was rapidly shaking my hand 'no', but they didn't listen. So, Chris hands him the gun and we return to our sleeping bags while Teddy starts marching around the tree.

I chuckle as I head back over to my sleeping bag. Chris raises his eyebrow while he fixes his sleeping bag,

"Why are you laughing?"

My jaw drops in amazement, "You just gave Teddy fucking-Duchamp a gun and expect me not to find the situation funny?"

He smiles as he lays down, "Yeah, I guess it isn't the smartest decision I've made... But he'll probably be alright."

We all lay down as the air fills with silence again.

It was quiet and dark as the fire was slowly starting to fade.

I was jusssssst about to fall asleep when I hear mother fucking Teddy,

"The dog faces rest easy with the knowledge that general Duchamp protects their grounds-"

I groan, "Shut up, Teddy! And keep your eyes peeled."

Chris snickers but stays quiet.

"The time is 2200, not an enemy in site-"

"TEDDY."

"Alright, alright.... Jesus you're no fun."

At this point Chris, Vern, and Gordie are cackling. I cave in after a few seconds and laugh with them.
