I woke up the next morning to the sound of the freight train coming through. It wasn't the most lovely way of being woken up, but it definitely got the job done.

I took the clothes from my bag and walked aways to a more wooded area so none of the guys could see, even though most of them were still trying to wake up fully. Gordie seemed to have been awake for a while before. I'll have to ask him about that later.

I changed out of my clothes and unbraided my hair that i did last night. I only had my shorts on because it was hot out and I was alone. I heard rustling coming from the trees around me. When I looked up, I saw Gordie and Chris.

"Oh, hey guys!", I smile at them and put my shirt. I don't feel weird about not being fully dressed around Gordie because he's my best friend, Chris I obviously don't mind. It'd be really weird if I did...

They smile and say 'hello'.

I was picking up my bag and putting my clothes in when I hear yelling coming from the camp area. I look at Gordie and Chris confused, but they just look at each other, trying not to laugh.

My head tilts to the side in annoyance, "Alright, what the hell did you two fuck faces do?"

Their jaw drops at the names, "Pfttttt, we didn't do anything! I'm so very hurt that you would think we di-"

"Cut the bullshit, Chris."

Gordie's cackling and Chris and I are smiling. I hear another yell and this time we all start running.

When we get up there, Vern's tied to a tree and Teddy's sat across from him reading a 'Playboy' magazine.

I furrow my eyebrows and drop my jaw, "Alright, what the fuck.", I start untiring poor Vern from the tree and interrogating Teddy,

"Why the fuck did you tie Verno to a tree?"

Teddy shrugs, "He was annoying me."

I felt my eye literally twitch, "Teddy, mother fucking, Duchamp. WHAT IN THE BLOODY FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!?"

He looks like a scared puppy while the others laugh their asses off.

"WHY WOULD YOU THINK TYING OUR FRIEND TO A TREE IS A GOOD IDEA?"

He stutters for words. I whip my head around when I hear the others laughing,

"Oh, you guys think this is funny?"

They all stop laughing. They actually all look like they're about to shit themselves. I got 'em now.

"Each and everyone of you, is a pain in the ass. I mean, seriously. Who the fuck ties their friend to a tree? Who the hell balls rocks up in their underwear to throw through someone's window? Who the hell takes cherry pezz from someone's bag? Who the hell actually stands here and listens to me expose all of your dumbass! Come on you, fucking turds, let's go!"

We all laugh and start collecting our things. Gordie stops for a minute with a puzzled look.

"Hey, Mar?"

I turn to him while I pull my backpack on to my shoulder, "Yeah? What's up, Gordo?"

He switches his weight to one hip, "Who balled their underwear up with rocks and through it at your window?"

I slowly turn my head towards Chris. He notices and walks over to us with a smile. But drops it when Gordie and I snap our heads back to each other, trying to hold in our laughter.

"Chris did it!-", I blurt it out and Gordie and I start wheezing. Chris looks between us very confused with a slight chuckle.

We finally finished gathering all of our items, and we hit the tracks again. It's not as hot out as it was yesterday, but we're also mostly in the shade so far.

After a few minutes, our stomachs start the rumble, so we try and be resourceful as we can and look around for some berries that look safe.

We pick a handful each and continue our walk. Vern huffs,

"Geez, Gordie, why couldn't you've gotten some good breakfast food too? Like some twinkies and root beer!"

Gordie laughs, "Geez, you're right, Vern! But maybe a more experienced shopper could've gotten more with your 7 cents!"

We all let out a good laugh,

I sigh and shake my head, "Man, I love when Gordie gets sassy! It's such a humbling moment!"

We all start cackling and slowly making our way down the trail.

We just talk and enjoy each other's company, it's a lovely moment.

And now I have no idea how to end this chapter.

So I'll end it here.

Author's note: wow, so much is happening (It's really not and I feel like this is boring)

I'm still going to continue this book because I want to finish it🤷 but I fr don't blame you if you don't continue it💀
