NEVER LOSE YOU AGAIN

CHAPTER 20

3 DAYS LATER

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

I starred at the clock. I fixed the cap of the pen in my mouth and thought. I had been thinking for about an hour now, and still the paper on my lap was blank, which is shameful because Nisha maam has already bragged a lot about my writing before. Now if I don't come up with something good, it will be just an embarrassing moment for both, Nisha ma'am and me.

Oh wait, let me tell you. Finally, I got something I could distract myself with. It is doctor's day today and Nisha maam has finalized me for the speech in the auditorium. And I have my event in less than 6 hours and I have a lot to figure out, especially the clothes. And mainly, I am not yet ready with a speech. You know this is the most annoying part about writing, it is involuntary. I had tried to look into my wardrobe about 30 minutes ago, but I couldn't find anything good, and for girls, what to wear is always a big problem.

i was thinking about what to write, when the doorbell rang. I kept the pen and the paper aside and opened the door. I saw a delivery guy from amazon waiting at the doorstep.

'Aarushi Nandi?' he asked as he read the name on the parcel.

'yes.' I said

'ma'am your parcel.' He said and handed over a box to me.

'but I haven't ordered anything.' I said, getting confused.

'ma'am this is a gift parcel.' He said

'okay fine. Thank you.' I took the box and went inside.

I got knife from kitchen and opened the box. There was a cover wrapped around something and I opened it. There was a dress which unfolded into beautiful, black one piece. It was really pretty. There was a little note added there

'happy doctor's day, Dr. Aarushi.

You will look great in this outfit.

I smiled at this surprise. I took out my phone and dialed Manav's number.

'hello?' he picked up after four rings.

'manaaaavvvvv! Thank youuuuu!' I said in a cheerful tone.

'oh, you got the gift??' he asked

'yess! But there was no need for it!' I said

'aree! There was! It's doctor's day, it's your day! You deserve a gift!' he said

'oh come on! Tell me, when do we have a head editor's day?' I grinned

'ahh, I wish there was, I could ask you for a big gift!' he said

'you can still ask me for a gift anytime!' I said

'you've already gifted me your presence! What else could be more special than that?' he laughed

'oh come on. But Manav really, the dress is very very beautiful! Thank you so much. You know, you solved my issue today, I was just thinking what to wear to the event!' I said

'event? What event?' he asked

'it's doctor's day today so we have a little celebration at AIIMS and I have to give a speech. So..i was just figuring out what to wear.' I explained

'woo woo woo! That's great! See, my timings are just commendable, aren't they?' he asked

'indeed. By the way, you can come along, if you want to.' I offered him.
